Sorry guys but I might be a trader... Okay, Well I hate to say it but after a year I am thinking of my next bike. I am moving soon so it won't be for a while before I buy my next bike. I will roll my zx10r for a couple of months and then sell it. I am thinking of getting a...a...gixxer 1k...I feel like a betrayer...if thats a word, but I want to see how it handles and the low/mid pull that our bikes just dont have, and I really dont feel like paying 11k OTD on the 06 10r when I can get a gix 1k for $8.5k OTD and have a very tiny better reseal value later on. You guys think I am a dick don't you?

u got a buddy or a dealer with a demo bike that will let u take the gixx out for a spin? that way u know what ur getting into, and won't end up regreting switching to the 1k if u don't like it.

btw, why not just keep your current 10 instead of spending more $ on a new 10 or the 1k? have you outgrown the 10 or something?

Don't feel so bad. I almost felt the same way since I'm thinkin about an 06 Busa! Kawi has not left me with a lot of options. I really want the 10 but it feels kinda cramped to me.
But what makes me feel better is-------- I'm not gonna part with my 12 for nothin!!!!!!

Are gixers power curve all that much better ? we are taking same year be it 2005 or 2006?
I geared down my 2004 ZX-10R down a bunch and can't see any midrange problems whatsoever.
Both bikes being 1000cc I can't see the gixer stiring up anything magical for your money as far as that goes; trading for more bottom to mid as a priority ??then get a v-twin slow poke when flatout with a whimpy top end bike to be happy with . they can have great low and bottom end power. some folks like v-twins.... they cost less too..
wish the best; your expectations do not make sense. if you just want a gixer ok evry one gets to choose! you are not a dick on account of wanting a gixer

So this penguin is driving his car when he hears this funny sound, then smoke and steam starts coming out from under the hood.
Luckily, he was close to a service station, so he pulled in and asked the mechanic to take a look.
The mechanic said he would, but it would be a bit, and if he wanted to go get something to eat or drink, there was a mini mart just down the street.
The penguin, feeling the heat of the day, walked down there and purchased an ice cream cone.
Walking back, the cone started to melt rapidly, dripping on his chin and chest.
Finishing the cone, he reentered the garage, the mechanic looked up from where he was peering under the hood.

Resale has never even crossed my mind, when getting a bike. I get what I want, and keep em quite a while. Anyone you speak with here surely won't alienate you, no matter what ya get. A bud of mine is dumping his black K5 next year....Your the boss, get what you want!

Thanks for th input, I was more just stating I might be a trader to let everyone know, that way you guys could treat me like shit a little bit. hehe..I also want a change, I must have ADD because I can't have a bike for more then around 7-9 months, after 9 or 10 months I am fed up and need another bike. And I always need to have the newest and hottest bike. Sicne I have had ONE of the newest and hottest bikes I want the other, the gix 1k, then next year I will get the slightly tweaked (no kinks) and improved, non-recall version of the zx10r. haha. As far as resell value, kawas are raw and fun to drive and I personally think they are very ergonomic and comfortable compared to bikes like the R1 and gix 1k...only think is I notice kawa's have a slightly tougher time selling then the other 3 brands plus kawas resale value is about 5-8% less then the other bikes, sometime more. Not too much to the average joe but that extra 400 bucks does alot for me, I am a grad student and am poor broke, but have so much of a passion for these monstrous bikes that I must buy and ride them. Now, I already have my damage to fix from when I dropped my bike, anyone want to start a fix ikezixxers bike fund? I went on one site and the people actually got together $150 for some guy, I thought it was both cool and kinda messed up. He showed pics of his bike and his title and everything so he wasn't lying, but who knows who might need the money more? Anyway, those that want to contribute to my fund please donate $5.00 to my email address, just click the email link and email me for info...you rich SOB's

It's all good. If anyone has figured out 'brand loyalty' it's gotta be HD. They sell a couple hundred thousand bikes a year to peeps that only ride them two or three times...

ummmm... from what I've been hearing...gixxers are having some serious problems with frame cracking....they keep splitting in 1/2 even at 10mph crashes! You're better off getting a Honda if you really don't wanna go Kawi again. Bad move going to Suzuki!

Kinda like the Kawi frams AND wheels? Or the Yamaha frames. All light SS bikes will have the frame issue from now on...

Didn't realize the resale thing either but the garage definitely needs to be enlarged (7R, 10R, 12R, ZZR12 a couple Buells and a Cannondale 440 for the dirt) due to not selling off the old ones... That's a cool idea though. Anyone want to adopt one?
Anyway, the Gixxer will be fun no doubt but I too cannot figure out the midrange comment. I feel like my 10R is always right on the powerband, and I've never lost a run down the straights at a Jennings track day to anything (including a buddy's 05 GSXR 1K).
