Confessions of a Yamaha Rider

My outlook on life has been changed.
I've always been a small bike rider, I've raced RZ350s and various 600s.
I have always believed that a 600 is the fastest way around a race track, or at least the lumpy excuses for tracks we have in Canada.
I had the opportunity to ride a 2005 ZX10 superbike that was campaigned in this years Canadian National race series. I was amazed that it felt a lot like a 600 with the precise turn-in and light steering effort that makes 600s so good. My second impression was that after half throttle it flat hauled and it wheelied A LOT!
I always believed that superbikes were unruly beasts to be tamed by the naturally gifted. After riding the ZX10 I will have to buy my own in order to further investigate how its possible for this bike to be so good.

Please buy lots of oil.

Franz

yeah, but it was a _canadian_ superbike. given the budget of anything canadian, it was probably just a stock bike with slicks & tape over the lights

I wish you were wrong, but you're not.
It did have some very trick suspension bits and the lights were removed, I checked.
