Thinking about buying 10R
Hi fellas,
I am new to the forum and thinking about picking up a red 2005 10R for $8900 OTD from a local dealer. Is that consider a decent price? Also I have been riding a 03 Honda RC51 for 2 years and just thought I want something for a change. Since I really don't have any background information on the 10R I was hoping you guys can give me some feedback. Like how does the bike handle? I know the power is there espeically from soneone coming from a v-twin I think it might take a while for me to get use to the power. Also, are they reliable machine as far as the motor/mechanical compoenents. Last but not least anything else I should look out for? Hope to talk to you all soon.

You know that the opinions you get here will be biased right....lmbo
Going from a RC to a ZX10, man what a difference.....The 10 handles very well and is very light in comparison to the RC....atleast in terms of flicking it from side to side.
I have had no issues whatso ever since day 1.....but on day 1 it had a leaky fork seal....I now have 9500 miles on my 10, with 6 trackdays, and its worked flawlessly....
It ahs some quirks like most bikes do...mine doesnt liek to shift from 1st to 2nd using the clutch, so I dont use it....lol
And I had bigtime issues with the brakes, but not on the street, only on the track. I think I have tha tfixed with SS lines, RBF600 brake fluid, adn Braking Sintered pads...
I had to put a bigger windshield on it so my fat ass could even think about having something to hide behind......

I went from primarily riding a TL1000R to a 10R as an everyday bike and hoestly, the 10 makes the TLR feel like a 2000 pound moped.

no strange mechanical problems, at least none that any other bike is prone to. get the bikes suspension set proper and a damper is not really needed. I think the best part is hearing the engine growl (intake and exhaust) when you crack that throttle. It just sounds pissed off!  I don't think you'll regret it.

A good friend of mine has an RC-51, we traded bikes to ride for part of a day...
His comment when he got off my 10r was :
This bike just isn't right,. This thing is violent. My RC51 is a nice steady even almost slow pull, this thing accelerates like a pit bull about to fight and its skinny and light. I would definitely be a better rider on the RC51 but your bike is a whole lot more adrenaline based fun.
