New Guy

New guy just wanted to say hi. I am looking to buy a new Kaw. 10 or 12 whats the better bike. I have a 05 R1 and I have raced alot of 10's (nice bikes) but dont see to many 12's around. Why? Any way rode a 05 10R and fell in LOVE. I think the R1 has to go it's not just the same any more.

The 10 & 12 are such different bikes. One isn't better than the other - depending on what you plan to do and/or enjoy doing with it. Coming from an R1, assuming your a "sportbike" guy, you'll probably be happier with the 10. I for one, wish I still had my 12 sometimes for just all around riding. For me, the 10 is for the track and "sport" riding.

It would be a around town/weekend drags and 100 to 500 mile rides bike. I have looked at the busa but I dont think it is the right bike for me at least not for another 10 or 15 years ( Im still to young only 30) I Iike to go out and rip it up and drag knee and do some stunt's. (I alos have a 929 that I just beat the hell out of stuntin) I am an all out rider with tons of exp. And love to have fun the 10R seems to be a great bike for all of the above but like I said I dont want to count out the 12R I have not rode one and I dont see many.

I'd keep the R1, and get a 12 for the drags. The 12 is gonna be more fun at the drags than a 10R, in my opinion.

not if you add 6 inches in the swing arm of the 10, and a turbo....

What kind of turbo's do you guys run on the bikes? I have a 1976 vw rabbit with a t3/t4 357hp 1675lbs with me in it. Run's mid 9 sec 1/4 mile. The most fun you can have on 4 wheels. V8 guys hate it.

You have some opinions from experienced ZX10r owners. Not much reason to keep it alive anymore. Take a look at this one "Riding impressions of the 2004 ZX10R" from the archives and/or scroll through some of the past threads. You should find out plenty about comparisions to other bikes in general.
