180/55vs. 190/50 vs. 190/55
Who has changed out tires on their 10 for the track and what sizes do you prefer.....I have run a 190/50 Pilot Power on the track, and a 190/55 Supercorsa, I like both just fine, but I htink the 190/50 felt better laid over.....any opinions?

180 will always be the smartest but will change the way the bike rides so you will have to get used to it...I have been told numerous times to run 180's on track bikes which usually run 190's...not sure if it is worth it.

The pirelli/metzler 190/55 is a 180/55 designed for a 6" rim. It's all of 3mm wider than the 180. The Michelin 180's, in particular their slicks, are designed for a 5.5 rim. Run them at your own risk. I am running the Pirelli SC2 (SC1 is OK too) slick out back and the Michelin 1246 slick in front. The Mich has unbeatable grip and lightning quick, razor sharp steering. The SC2 is incredibly stable. Even on the bumpiest straights at wfo the bike is controllable with a decent damper. Without any bumps to induce instability they are never going to so much as wiggle on you. Traction is everything you could want with predictable, controllable slides. The Racetech K2 is another winner out back in the 190/55. It is certainly better than the more expensive SC2 DOT tire.
As for durability, even a madman can get a 2 or 3 of days out of both the Mich and the RS, unless you run Spring Mountain or some other tire shredder track. The K2 will not fare quite as well as the RS slick.

You should always measure the ride height/geometry when changing any tire. All tires are different. If you like the set up of one set then try and match it with the new set my adjusting your ride height, After taking the the measurment and finding the difference. Also if you like the Pilots better coming out of a corner, you should try removing the 5mm washer on the shock when riding the supercorsas. Best thing to do is go back to stock geometry, find a good suspension setting, then try different tires. Without doing this you will never know which tires you really like.

Also I prefer Bridgestone BT002. My front forks raised 3mm and 5mm shock washer removed.

None of the above. I like the UK-made 190/60 GP/A. Have to drop the rear a bit, as it's almost a full inch taller, but amazing grip on its side, with lots of stability and good predictable slides too.

Weighs a ton though.
