THis sounds pretty cool. I like the idea of de-restricting it and helping out the 2nd and 3rd accel. Not a bad price either. I wonder what they are doing...Hmmm
Has anyone dynoed one of these to see what it did to 2nd and 3rd?

my understanding is that there is no restriction on this bike...
you can search the site.. it's been discussed before..
perhaps dougmyere or kbryant would like to clarify this.

XL has said, atleast I think it was him, in a few different threads that there is not restrictor on the ZX10 as it woulndt go past 186 MPH stock, so there was no need in it......
this was a highly contraversial topic a while back, do some research on this....

The most noticable effect of the g-pack was the increase in the 1st and 2nd gear high end. The bike pulls harder in the upper rpm ranges of these 2 gears now.
I'm not a fan of top speed runs so I havent dont the 300km/h limit test... yet

If speedometer STOPS at 299kph / 186mph then it means that there IS restrictor (maybe only speedometer based, but there IS!)
Can anyone finally tell if it derestricts 300km/h or not?

If the bike is restricted the g- pack sure doesnt de-restrict it. no difference in power with or without.

Did you try it?
I believe it could be used for derestricting limiter and not increasing power.....power will be the same, but it should allow for higher rpm's on 6th gear....not because of more power but because of removing limiter....
i wonder if this top speed de-restriction works....nobody tried it? at all??

If it's anything similar to the suzuki offerings, it doesn't really do a damn thing for real useable power. Its other name is a TRE (timing retard eliminator), and all it boiled down to was a resistor wired between the GPS (gear position sensor) and the ECU. On the suzooks, the ECU would pull back the timing a little bit in first gear only, and only a part throttle openings under certain RPMS... and usually rather small openings at that (why they did this is quite the subject for debate). If you rode the bike even remotely hard, you'd never even see the difference. The GPS works on various resistance readings to tell the ECU what gear it is in. The TRE/G-pack would convince the ECU it was in 4th gear, bypassing the timing retard, and as a side effect, the speed limiter (the limit of 186mph was only applied in 5th and 6th gear).
The only nice thing about the G-pack over a home-made TRE was that it was 'smart'.... when the bike was in neutral, it would still let the ECU know that it was. Cold starts on a bike when it thinks it's in fourth gear would make it idle like shit.
Moral of the story: if you ride at more than small throttle openings in more than first gear, the only thing a TRE/G-pack is good for is getting rid of the top speed limiter, and reducing the sprung weight of your wallet. However, I've noticed NO such limiter on my 06 10-R... funny that.
Hope that helps any
