OT: OMFG, what a monitor So, my Dell 2405FPW came in today. 24" widescreen, 1920 x 1200 pixels. I believe the pastor would even appreciate this one for graphic design work. Very bright, very sharp, and a friggin TON of real estate.

Man, I bet that thing is nice. Still, I'm "old school" when it comes to "professional graphics" and monitors. Even though I plod along with a 19" ViewSonic, my "dream monitor" would be the Mitsubishi Diamondtron RDF225WG. It just has a 20" viewing area, but the text sharpness and it's ability to match almost 98% of the Adobe RGB are aspects that are critical in our business.
When we go to six color digital output, I doubt if I'll be getting one of these babies (street price around $4,250), but I will have to have a monitor with a wide color gamut and outstanding color correction capabilities. Not to mention something I can look at from a distance of 12" - 16" for 10+ hours a day. That's just something I can't do with FPs.
I do love my UltraSharp screen on my Inspiron, but I don't think I could deal with doing vector art on it all day.

I've been running dual 1600x1200's forever and a day. Once you go dual monitors, it cant be beat.
I have a dual LCD setup running 1600x1200 each, super nice. And I have my dual 21" CRT setup, some bad ass Hitachi CM812 monitors that are great at 1600x1200 with a get this- .20 dot pitch! sick!! Big suckers, but for the same reasons red said. I do a lot of graphic and web design work, and some stuff I prefer to do on a CRT, especially for color representation.
For gaming, I have a Samsung 1280x1024 LCD, running at a superior 8ms so there is no ghosting...my asus sli board is suuweeeet! and my tower too...druel i love this thing, ill have to post pics.
