Roll-ons

No - not a deodorant topic here.

I rolled on with my buddies 02 R1 yesterday on and had an interesting result.

We started both runs right around 45 - one run I was in second and the other I was in first.

The run that started in second was not that much different than the run that started in first.

I gaine a bike length or 2 by starting in first - I thought it would have been alot different.

All the way - indicated 176 (GPS recorded 164).

It was about 90 out and we were goining up a grade at about 2 or 3,000 feet elevation.

Something worth mentioning is if your 10r has OEM gearing then 1st gear roll-ons with an 02R1 having OEM gearing = advantage R1.

Yes sir - that and the fact that the R1 pilot weighed around 165 and I'm 230.

I don't know about the gap - waiting for video.

I beleive I maintained that gap or better throughout the roll-ons.

Oddly enough, both bikes would only pull 164.

In all fairness the 02 R1 is a strong runnin bike (my previous)so taking into consideration the rider weight diff you should be pleased.

Right again sir - I would like to have seen 170 (actually 180) but it would seem that conditions were not present for that.

I just had this same question about a 2001 R1 vs my 2004 10R from this weekend.

In the video it seems that you guys are dead even until around 125 or so & then you pull about 10 feet or so in front of the R1.

My roll ons this weekend stopped around 110 mph or so, which is why we (in my roll on) were dead even I think.

Stock Busa didn't show and I didn't see the need ta run the 260hp big bore+NOS Busa nor the 400+hp turbo Bus (the camera bike).
