KZ2ZX's review of my new Galfer Brakelines
I put 'em on late last night. Install was super easy - wife wanted to know why I was in the garage pumping my brake...
I kept the stock lines (everything I take off the bike I keep to reinstall when I sell it).
Crispin, I think you must have air in your lines still, since the improvement was night and day.
The front brakes are now nearly perfect - when I replace the pads, I'll put in some HH rates - and the lever is firm, and engages with very little travel. I can lift the back wheel with one finger (my middle one, incidentally) from 60 MPH, and did, accidentally (or not on purpose) this morning when I was riding to the twisties (first traffic light, whoo-boy, applied a bit too much pressure).
I didn't install a line on the back - I can lock the back up already, after adjusting the rear brake lever, and I can't see the need to make it any more hair-trigger.
In short, I really like the new lines. I got 'em in Smoke cover and with the nickelplate hardware, didn't spring for the gold ends.

The stock fluid was turning brown, and I had some small pebbly crud at the bottom of the drain babyfood jar when I drained the old lines. The new Galfer fluid (was on sale at CycleGear) is colorless and smelled better...
