TOMAHAWK TIRES
Just asking myself if I will put does recap tires on my bike.
They seem pretty serious, but I don't know anybody who try it so just scratch my head.
AWY there's the site with a lot of reading, you know publicity and everything.
So there's the site. Tell me what you think about it or if you read or heard about it.
The site : www.cycletires.com
The chick on the picture are awesome at least if the tires are not.

I started wondering myself.
I mean - aircraft tires, right?
But what if the carcasses suck - one spot on the site said D204's were retreaded, and I know very little about that tire...
what if the tread sucks?
what if the compound is not great - cold tears, shears, liquefies, etc? Takes forever to warm, or loses grip at low pressures?
Anyone know more about these? The price is sorta right - right-er than, say, Diablo Supercorsas...

I realize they have this retread technology down pat, after all, how many treads do you see laying on runways? After working in a tire factory for 15 years, I can see that their process is pretty foolproof. But I just can't get myself to try them out. Any experimenters out there?

If they had the orange ones in race compound I'd try them.

Well, I'd also say aircraft tires go through different stresses than race tires. While that's rather impressive in and of itself, airplanes don't spend as much time on the tires as do bikes and cars (duh).
So I think truck tires are the closest thing, and you do see treads around the road there.
While they might be okay for the street, I'm still just leary of the whole thing. But I thought I read where they are taking off (no pun) in Europe.
