German company ABM makes a more of a streetfighter style option for the 10R.

Mounted a set of TLR (50mm) Heli's this weekend. With them all the way up the bike feels like a standard. Lowered them on the fork and the bars are about the same level as the upper triple and it feels more like a ZX9. Brake resovior was easy to mount with the Heli's they have two pinch bolts on each handlebar. Tho the bike's geometry is the same the feel is different, nothing that seat time won't cure. For ME, the problem with stock bars is not the height but the hard angle of the handlebars (as most sportbikes), would be nice if KAW offered replacement strightbars with no angle or taper. I know its a race - bike bla, bla, bla, bla - if you were going to the track you would race prep. I plan on making mine more streetable. Next stop Corbin and maybe some adjustable rearsets (would like just a tad more legroom). Can't post pics but will swap emails. (subject: handlebars) - Later . . .

marmstr1@bellsouth.net

Also - The stock bar ends will not work with these Heli's they are a screw-on type so I had to use the rubber bar end on the opposite side untill I get an older style bar end for the Heli's.

...looks comfortable and probably feels great...but it somehow just doesn't 'look right' on the 10R...doesn't look super-sporty enough, ironically...more Z1000-ish...probably in feel, too...and the Z-1000 isn't a bad bike at all for its design purpose...its a great bike, but its not a 10R either...hmmmmmm....
