Bike night in Kuwait

Our night is Wednesday nights at midnight till 4 or 5am . We go way out south by the oil refinerys . We have a 4 lane road that has huge parking lot lights down the center . One direction goes to Saudi Arabia and the other to the Persian Gulf . Road is straight and over 50 kilometers in length . We are also at sea level so the air is great , minus the summer heat . About 50-100 bikes show up for heads up racing . We even have some really bad ass cars that want to play . Race length is over 850 meters long .

The Kuwaiti's race for like 400-900 Kuwait Dinar . That is $1,300 to $3,000 U.S. Dollars folks . These guys even go into the city and hit the cash machines and come back with some mobster bank rolls .

Here it is , personally seen it in well over 100 races . The fastest stock production bike on planet Earth is the Kawasaki ZX10R . Do I need to repeat that ? We have 8 ZX10R's that everyone wants a piece of .

The seconds fastest stock production bike is the ZX12R . Number 3 is the big fat ass Busa . Around 80% of the time the 12R beats the Busa depending on the rider . Busa and 12R even switch riders , still 12R all the way . Fourth fastest is the GSXR1000 . Fifth is the CBR1000 , R1 and CBR954 .

A stock ZX10R will pull a "heavily modded" Busa , GSXR1000 or ZX12R like 1-5 bike lengths depending on the riders . I am talking full racing exhaust , Power Commander 3R's , BMC or K&N air filters , radical gearing mods and timing advancers . Everything modded except going deep inside the motor or stretching the bike out .

One guy has a heavily modded GSXR1000 with all parts mentioned above . He got beat 4 times from a brand new , fresh off the dealer showroom ZX10R with NO break-in . He was so pissed that he even pulled off his racing Akrapovik Evo2 can and ran it like that . Sucker still got stomped . I would even say that the GSZR1000 rider was a semi-pro drag racer . Very good shifts and launches . He never misses a beat . The GSXR rider was even the better rider on those runs by far . Now I can't wait again for Wednesday night to get here . I can provide digital movies if anyone thinks I am a liar . But I have no idea how to post them due to the size .

Sounds sweet.

Y'all best be real careful out there - easy targets in that environment.

Don't think it always happens ta someone else (that's what a buddy of mine thought who works for ABB Turbo).

And we thought that us Americans had all the fun. Good news about the 10R's dominance; I was getting worried after all the posts bitching about what a dog it was.

Definitively encouraging DKET ;I was never dissapointed but great to hear. A clinical (excuuuse me) Definition of happines is the ratio of what is expected to what you get.

I got what I expected and more.

Hey ;DKET 850 meters ia a lot more than a 1/4 mile who came up with that? Just curious ;house rules?

Have a great weekend; I know I will; have been traveling out of town plus had cold spell here in South Dakota last three days ;not been able to ride my ZX-10R as much ;well that will change now..... Yehaw!! hehe.

Have a great weekend all!

Have fun;be safe.

I have a 10 with 1100 miles/oil change.Seems to run good.No dyno runs.
I raced a mapped 12,full Muzzy,PCIII,and got beat at all speeds.
It seems light 5-10hp to beat/equal the 12.
My old 12[sold to a friend runs good stock.I am trying to get a race with him.
I will post results.

dket - You've dyno'd your bike and, 'serviced' the stock exhaust.

Can I ask what upshift RPM you are finding most effective??

roym3 - What about you?

My first real, 'speed blast' - I was shifting way too late (13k indicated)...
Have'nt gone back to quantify tests at lesser upshift RPM yet..

Thanks

Rad,
First I am going to check my tach accuracy again this weekend, weather permitting.
One article said the rev limiter kicked in at 13700.
I have not checked this out yet either.
Max power is 11500-12500,depending on which article/exhaust system test data you are reading.

IMO

I set the shift light for 12250 rpm . No need to go to or over redline . If you do you get way out of the torque/power curve .

Trivia,
Almost embarrassed to post this.
Thought/hoped the 10 was going to have 10-15 more hp.Bought 37 tooth rear for lots of big end riding.aaaaaaaaaaoh well;put it on anyway.
Amazing.Bike was awesome from day 1,but noisey, buzzy, almost nervous, compared to my 12 at least.
Now it is quieter, smoother,I swear it even shifts better.Much more comfortable/rideable.Not a lot of clutch required in town/red lites;seems the same as stock.I don't know if it will roll on better,or pull 6th,even after I pipe and map it[I promise it did this for my 12,and it did improve roll ons/rideability.Not as dramatic a difference as the 10 though. But even my friends wouldn't do the fix].
Not for the strip,I know.
FYI.
And I know its not supposed to be a gold wing. But I do like 37/17 better than stock.
I will try to get some roll on comparos to post,in case anybody is interested.
