Poll Question: POLL ABOUT COWL AND BUTTPAD. ATTN KAWASAKI SO... seems that people in general dont like the black "buttpad" that is on the seat cowl.. I for one wasnt pleased after
1) having to PAY for the cowl (should've come with the bike).. how cheap KMC! Cowl came with my 636 AND my 12R
2) Discovering (after never having seen one before) upon opening the box that it has this black pad thing on it..
So.. do people love the pad or hate it? And can we get it fixed / changed?
Please VOTE HERE (right after pix)

Really upset that one did not come with the bike, if not for me I don't see how they can leave them off future bike. Without pad look much better.

PLEASE VOTE (ABOVE)
At least it could have been made in such a way as to allow the purchaser to decide if they wanted to install the pad, but they are screwed on that as well since KMC has drilled holes in the cowl to mount said pad

I would say you could put plastic rivets in and match the paint.

I would like to have a third choice. ZX6RR style cover with no pad. I think the cover is bulky, ugly looking. But it might look better than the passenger seat.

Kawi should have just used the Z1000/ZX6R tail section.
The tail on the 10R is nowhere near as nice looking, has big square holes when you remove the mudflap fender, and that cowl is as ugly as any 'busa ever thought of being.
I'd just keep the passenger seat on it, looks better and will support saddlebags and tailbags.

How in the hell did you get your pad already? I am still waiting on the dealership to get mine in since they say they are on back order. I guess it doesn't help that I have a black one, but that still sucks. Either way, the cowl is much better than the passenger seat, so I can't wait for it to get here. Nice pics, but that's kind of crazy that you got your seat cowl before you got a chance to get rid of the fender.

I'd think they way the poll is going KMC could at leat make a batch minus the buttpad... gotta be simple... just dont drill holes in the thing...
offer them both?

LOL. Good idea, swft. I'm going to pull my pad off and cover the holes with my #3 Dale Earnhardt stickers. You know....the ones with angel wings on them. They are so cool!!!! LOL (I love this forum)

I would have to vote for no pad... although it doesn't really matter since mine is black anyway . I for one think the cowl is the dumbest looking thing I've ever seen. Does anyone else think it should follow the lines of the tail (like the GSX-R's)?

I'm mulling over getting out the fiberglass cloth and resin for a one off. All depends on what the tail looks like that comes with whatever brand of race plastic I get.
