rpms for wheelie ?
What rpm does the tachometer show when front wheel lifts up ? (it was 6000-7000 with zx-6r)
And does the thing powerwheelie with 1st 2nd and 3rd like all the mags say ?
still waiting mine!
cheers!

I don't know. It really hasn't tried to loft the front but once (maybe twice) on me, and I've whacked it open hard passing a few vehicles...
maybe for a lighter rider, or maybe I'm doing something subconsciously to stop the wheelying?

When zx-6r (636) was launched and tested on mags, they said it will powerwheelie with 1st and 2nd at will, but truth was that it only did it in 1st gear. :/

kz's experience is, unfortunately, accurate. The bike is fairly soft until about 10k rpms, which means that you won't get the monster wheelies under normal conditions (unless you love to scream around town with the revs pegged).
My experience, and those that have chimed in, is that the 10R is not the "wheelie machine" that some mags have suggested. Of course, that is good and bad for obvious reasons.
If you're looking to be pulling power wheelies all over the place in first, second, and third gears, the big Gix is your ride. None of the other litre bikes are as well adept at this imo (although the original R1 was close).

1st and 2nd will do this, but if you are in 3rd gear and sitting, if you nail the gas it will not pull a big wheelie. In fact the tire might not come off the ground. But now if you are standing and you preload the front forks, Up up and away she goes. But you have to be very careful with this. You can be over 100 on one tire and a big gust of wind can be curtains.
I am coming off a 929 and I do alot of wheelies but I am having a little trouble getting used to pulling them on this bike. I think the upper rpm power is so much more to where it makes me feel like it will loop in a heart beat. It Will. Sprocket change is coming and I think that will help make it a little smoother.

cool.. As long as it wheelies like 6r (that was the bike i was very comfortable with wheelying) or better, im happy...
When you change sprockets, does the bike need something else done so that the rpm's/speedo will show correctly ?
