ZX10R or 94 ZX6?
Originally I was thinking of getting the ZX10R but thought it would be to much bike since I have literally no experience riding a sport bike. Then a relative out of the blue said in a car deal he was traded a 94 ZX6 with about 20K miles on it. I think I can get around $1K for it. My only experience riding is dirt bikes when I was younger. The 94 ZX6 I can pay cash for while the 10R I will definitly have a payment. What does everyone think? What is your opinion on the 94 ZX6?

No experience riding make it a no brainer - ZX6. What are ya trying to do leave someone a large insurenace policy or something. ZX6's are bulletproof and at that price you can sell it in 10 years and get cha money back. Buy the ZX6 and some good gear and cut your teeth properly. The girls don't care what cha ride, just that cha ride. Don't be stupid !!!!!
My conservative .02 cents. Will bill you later - Have Fun.
By the way, what kind of experience do ya have?

The ZX10 is an extremely lively bike for a beginner. The ZX6 might be a better beginner bike. If you can get it for $1K, you can probably ride it for a year and sell it for what you have in it. Then graduate to the ZX10.

Definitely start on the ZX6. You might not have as much fun with the 10 (on your learning curve). You'll absorb a lot more experience starting off with a 6. Like everyone says, "just my .02 cents"

The only similarity between the 10 and the dirt bikes you have ridden before, is that they both wheelie when you twist the throttle. But there is a huge difference on what speeds those wheelies occur at...

Go with the ZX-6 put some miles under your belt along with a few track days then think about moving up to a liter bike. What you fail to realize is a rider with zero experience can get over his head quickly on a 250. Don't fall into the hype of the squids and mags and think you have to have the latest liter bike to have fun cause that's not the case.
Hell if you want a later bike then look at the SV650. Absolute blast to ride and tons of aftermarket goodies to put on.

Thanks a bunch for the advice. I rode my brothers ZX6 a couple of times. I think I will shoot for the ZX6. Does anyone have opinions on the 1994 version? Anything to look out for? Is it comfortable? Thanks for the info once again!

I had a 93 zx6-e. very comfortable , GREAT motor. A little heavy, but a great bike for cutting your teeth, and one that will still be fun as your learning curve increases. Buy the six at that price and enjoy!
