JEEZUS that is SOOO over played. I HATE that "you can't run from the eye in the sky" shit. BULLSHIT - lets see that "eye in the sky" go 190! Assholes. the only thing a chopper can do past about 140 is go higher and hope to close on a target that can't go in a straight line. Once you go around 180 and 190 though - give yourself 5 minutes at those speeds and chopper is BUH bye. True, choppers can go higher and watch for quite a distance, but with the small size of bikes, they can't really see them that far away. Not that I WOULD go that fast, its just that the whole "the police are omniscient" thing is just dumb and wrong.

It's really easy to get away from that chase pull into underground mall and go shopping or catch a movie that's already running and someone else's ticket whatever they can't prove it's YOU.. bec I can almost bet they never got a plate. That easy.

So deathpulse, are you saying that choppers top out at less than 180? Does that go for police choppers and news choppers? Not that I would flee to elude or anything. Just curious. I know that from the air my hometown looks like a forest. Where I live now it's so flat and open that the police could climb a telephone pole and track your every move.

Yeah 12R - most choppers top out at MUCH less than 180 (under optimal conditions). For instance - a Bell 206 Jet Ranger (popular type for Cops/News) has a top speed of 131 MPH (OPTIMAL) - this means, no wind/wind at your back, perfect engine etc etc. Another common type is the OH-58, which tops out at 149 MPH (this is FAST for a helo). I think the schwietzer 330 (another common type) tops around 140. As you can see, helo's are around 130~150 or so under OPTIMAL CONDITIONS.
