Kawasaki Dealer Complaint Contact?

Does anyone know a contact to complain about a dealer? My bike was purchased from a dealer about 3 hours away from my house. I have a problem and Kawi sent the part to the dealer I bought it from. I called the local dealer to have them put it in and they told me that I should have thought about things like that when buying a bike so far away. Maybe if I had bought it from them then they would help me out. That is BULLSHIT! A Kawi dealer is a Kawi dealer. It doesn't matter where I bought it. It is a warrantied part and they should fix it regardless. I would like to get a hold of someone at Kawasaki about Dame's motosports in Plattsburgh, NY. I called the place where I bought it and they said whenever I can bring it in they will drop what they are doing and fix it. That is good service. I guess I will be putting on an extra 320 miles on Sat to get it fixed. This really pisses me off! I am done venting.

Marsh... sounds like there's more to this story than meets the eye. Before ranting on the internet it would behoove you to call KMC directly as you and I both know that there is a history behind your warranty claim.

Fish,
I just don't know why they can't do it instead of driving 3 hours to get it done. All they have to do is put it in.

I think there are some legalities involved and, like I said, it sounds like there's more to the story than meets the eye. Look on the bright side.. you need to break it in anyways.

That is what i was thinking. By the time I get back home, It will be ready for an oil change. The other dealer doesn't know any particulars, only that the place i bought it was gonna send them the part.

Take it the 320 miles to get it done, a dealer that is forced to do something will never do it right, not worth the headache and aggrevation.

Like I said there IS more to this story. Marsh.. there isnt any way around this so go and get your bike fixed by your original dealer. You arent being totally upfront with all of your info in this and I dont think you are being fair in this situation. You could have taken the other options you were offered and you didnt. That's not Kawasaki's fault and it isnt right for you to complain online about it without giving all the details.

Apparently, I am missing some details. What options did I have? I got a bike that constantly has the FI light on and drains the battery dead every night. All I want is it fixed. I have an appointment for saturday to get it done. Am I missing some info also?

Fine...

(it's much easier if you would simply say this.. but I suppose it would totally deflate your rant... sorry buddy but I have to tell people the truth .. fairs/fair)

.... you told me that the dealer specifically offered to either fix that bike or give you a brand new one that wasnt in need of the repair. You told me that it was snowing and you couldnt ride the bike anyways. You agreed that you could simply take the bike BACK to the shop and wait for it to be repaired OR get a new one, whichever came first, and that was a great deal. I told you that if they were willing to give you a new bike then that was pretty cool. You told me that you had no problems with the dealer and that they were bending over to help you out.

So why come online and start slagging them? You HAD to have that bike and had to have it right away. You should have just left it there and let them fix it. That's your fault, not theirs.

You must have mis-understood what I said. When i got the bike home, I noticed the FI light on and it wouldn't start. I called the dealer and they said that they would order the part and put it in or send it to the dealer closest to me and have them do it. They only had one zx-10 and that was the one I bought so they couldn't give me another one. They said if they had one, they would have given me one but I didn't have any problems with my bike until I got it home and went to ride it. My local dealer won't put on the part because I didn't buy it from them. That is my problem with them. We must have had some mis-communication in there.

Bike dealerships are not like Car dealerships. When something is under warranty on a car, any dealership will do it because they all get paid the same and they want to fight for your business down the road. With bikes its different. They are usually small businesses compared to car dealerships and assume several factors when someone brings a new bike to them that was not brought from them. 1 is that you got a better price from a larger dealer far away who is bigger and can afford to sell the bike cheaper. 2 is that they will service there customers first before someone elses. Did you buy your bike from Troy? I only ask because they have the cheepest prices.. They quoted me like $9800 before tax over the phone, and they are 2 1/2 hours away. I ended up paying $10,500 from my dealership with the rear seat cowl included(when ever it comes). I opted to pay extra from the local dealer so when and if I have a problem I can get it fixed quickly.. You should have considered it before buying one so far away.. Dont blame your local dealer, blame yourself..

Uh... . no... there was no misunderstanding.. READ what I wrote... it's the notes I made of what you told me... I also told you that the original dealer had an obligation to fix your bike and they were in the process of doing that. There's no shortcut here Marsh. '

There's also no miscommunication. There's no misunderstanding. Our conversation on the phone was very clear.

You SPECIFICALLY told me that they offered you a new bike when it came in instead. You turned them down.

I have to go to work now.

bye.

Their offer was " If we had one we would give you another one" They aren't getting another zx10 until middle of may. I was already home 3 hours away. My complaint had nothing to do with my bike. It was that my local dealer (not knowing anything about the situation) wouldn't repair my bike because I didn't buy it from them.

marsh....the problem is that the dealer you bought it from has already filled out paper work and contacted KMC for a warranty claim and a warranty log...and they have ordered the part/parts under their account codes.
Therefore that dealer must install the part and be responsible for any other problems that may arise from said repair.

I dont think your local dealer actually has a problem doing warranty work on your machine as long as they initiated the work.

Hope this is helpful.

And understand no one here is trying to bag on you...everyone just wants you to get your machine fixed so you can enjoy it.

Skully,
I bought it from central vermont motorcycles because I used to live in Vt and have dealt with them in the past before just moving to NY.

Marsh... you've conviently not responded to what kbryant and extremelean have told you.. and you have also sidestepped the issues surrounding your transaction.

fact: your dealer offered to fix your bike or replace it
fact: you couldnt ride your bike anyways because of snow
fact: your dealer had already ordered that part and has opened a file on your bike
fact: because of this it is your dealer that must complete the claim
fact: you have ignored the advice you have received from people on this site
fact: you are trying to get work done closer to your house to avoid a drive when it was made very clear to you that you had to return to your dealer anyways.
fact: you are GOING TO HAVE TO RETURN TO YOUR DEALER so RANTING ON THE INTERNET WONT CHANGE THAT
fact: you wont win this arguement with us.
fact: take our advice... take your bike back, get it fixed, enjoy it and ride it.
fact: Next time shop closer to home.
