Pingel elect. shifter
I know the air shifter is predominately used on drag bikes. Has the Pingel electric shifter been tried and proven to be less than desireable? I ask because my installer is having a great deal of difficulty installing a new unit I bought and getting it to function properly. He absolutely does not like the Pingel but I'm not sure if it is because he hasn't dealt with it before and prefers air shifters. A Dyna Shift Minder and light w/pushbutton is used. The Pingel was sent to the manufacturer to be tested and repaired if necessary. The installer still had issues with it. He has now sent it back for new replacement and wishes to be done with the Pingel. Next, if it still does not work as desired, he will ask for a refund. I wish I had asked before buying one but have others had problems with a Pingel shifting efficiently? Lew

Had no issues with the pingle (turbo gsxr1000 )
there are several different kill boxes available, with different minimum times between shifts
some are too long between shifts for drag racing and it won't shift ,
sold the bike with shifter , but realy intended to keep the shifter and now will look for another for the turbo 14

Which kill box did you find to work for you on your turbo gsxr1000? I think mine is whatever came with the Pingel elect. shifter. I also use a Dyna shift minder.

Mine came with no protection from double shift but a mates did and it wasn't till we put my kill module on his that we figured out the problem, ordered the right one for him and solved his issues
No minder so i cant comment on how it may or may not be influencing yours
can you describe exactly what its doing ??

I wish I could, but the bike is in a shop 325 miles away and all I know is the installer knows air shifters, turbochargers and nitrous very well and he tells me he can't get the electric Pingel to shift properly. I can't help but think the kill time might need to be adjusted properly. It is very hard to second guess an expert performance bike builder. He thinks electric Pingel shifters are for Harleys and even then they don't work well. I don't know if the hassle is worth it. An air shifter is cheaper. Not having to deal with the air supply seemed a better way to go. Now, not so sure. Pingel's website sure is convincing that it works on metric drag bikes.

My mate is drag racing his lots more than i do and he has absolutely no problem with it on his gsxr turbo , i don't think he has ever missed a shift , he has a boost compensating lockup and his clutch is solid from second gear, and the shifts are seamless
i know i have not had any shifting issues
I have a cycletec air shifter here with a range of bottles , let me know if the pingle gets the better of you

Now, I'm waiting for a replacement of the apparently malfunctioning shift module from Pingel. Hopefully, the shifter will work properly with the new module??? Pingel will repair/replace new bad parts but no refunds on electronics. Glad to know yours is working well. My bike has been in the shop since January. That's more than a little too long.
