Update....Help me out here guys
Ok I made four passes yesterday afternoon in the beautiful weather we had here in Houston. I guess this newly set up bike with differnt gears and air shifter is going to be harder than I expected to master.
My best run...
R/T .705 I know crappy but it was a green light track night
60' - 1.707
330 - 4.444
1/8 - 6.644 @ 111.65
1000 - 8.566
1/4 - 10.218 @ 134.20 (BLAH!)
I feel as if my bike may be missing something in the third and fourth gear range. I made two passes against a guy who was identical set up like mine with the extension except he had a 50 tooth rear and I took him off the line and at 60' but he was bustin my a$$ in the high end. Now yes he was smaller than me like 140-150 and I am 225 but I would not have thought he would kick my butt in the higher end than bad. I also found out I could launch this bike at 5500-6000 where I would have never thought that before. What do you think? Do I need to remapp the Power Commander again? Change it up? I am running the bike up to 11,500 with the shift light. I duuno! Up to my peeps here to guide me int he right direction!

Thanks Mike. I will try whatver you think. The one map I have is one I got off the web so it could be junk.
I have a 2-7" extension pushed out to about 6.5" and 17/48 gears , Billet hub, brand new cluthces, shift light, air shifter. You can see the mods at my website. Last night I was running the 207 but my M/T Shooutout tire will be here Tuesday and will be on for this coming weekends opening event. I will email you my map of if you have one laready set up you can always just send it to me and I will load it. BTW I have a Power Commander III not a IIIr. and a Muzzy Can.

DJ, try running without the power commander at all. When i removed mine{cause it broke} my bike just seemed to come to life. Was running 6.55 with it and dropped to low 6.4s just by taking it off. I don't have a pipe but have opened up my stock can to flow much like a slip -on. I weigh about 210 dressed with stock arm and lowered just an inch in rear 60ft times are low 1.6s, with you arm you should blow that away. Good luck

I am not sure where I got it. Off of one of the websites. I think zx-12r.org
http://www.zx-12r.org/Motorcycle_info/Information%20Pages/PCIII%20Maps/PCIII_Maps.htm
I have loaded the one you sent me and I will let you know what it does.
Thanks!

**POST, POST, PRE-THOUGHT: I don't think your bike is Breathing!!!!
Someone help me remember here, it's been about 2 years.
Did the 12R have part of it's catalyst INSIDE the end of the "S' pipe right before the canister?? Having worked my way up from a 6R, 9R, and 12R, I sometimes can't remember which bike was which.
DJones, when the slip-on was off, did you take a gander into the stock pipe end? I'm thinking you've got catalyst crap there to take out. Use a chisel and small hammer. BE CAREFUL WHEN DONE, you'll need to back the bike up where no one will get hurt and fire it up without the slip-on to blow out the minor metal fragments. DO NOT REV TOO HIGH!!
Aside from that, I can see by your numbers that you are 3 tenths slower JUST ON THE BIG END than most of my runs. That sort of confirms your thoughts about the upper gears.
Every 25-30lbs is a Tenth, so you're giving the 140 pounders like me 3 tenths right off the bat, but that should be over the entire quarter mile.
I don't personally understand why you'd be losing 3 tenths just on the big end. Sounds like your bike isn't breathing. (yes, that's just a guess)
Dude, your 60' times are fair and I'm sure will get better, your 330' and EVEN your 1/8th ET are NOT THAT BAD!! You're 1/8th MPH SUCKS!!!
I found an old run of mine for you to compare. Remember I weigh 140 buck nekkid. Probably 155 leathered up. I SAID LEATHERED, NOT LATHERED!!
ME:
1.724 4.396 6.488 118.5 9.828 146.57
1.707 4.444 6.644 111.65 10.218 134.20 (BLAH!)
You^^
Things to look for:
1. Not getting tucked good enough, elbows and knees IN. (.05?)
2. Taking too long to shift. (hold it, didn't you say 'air shifter'?) (.10)
3. Not shifting at correct RPM. Dude, STOCK PIPE, I don't think you should go to redline. The dyno charts generally show a drop off up there. Do you have a dyno run yet?? I might suggest shifting 500 below redline. (.15?)
4. bad or over octaned gas, old stock air filters..... (.10?)
5. You are not getting wide open throttle soon enough. 2nd GR, WOT, .....AT LEAST!! Should work towards top of 1st WOT. (.20-.30?)
See, Ricky would charge ya an arm and a leg for that stuff man!!

We''l when I installed the can I chisled out the "Honeycomb" looking catalytic converter. I assume that is what you are talking about. It is gone.
As Mike said I was comparing the Map he sent me to the one I had on there and there is a huge differnce! Hopefully Mike is right and that map is just junk! We will know Saturday!
DJ
BTW....Ricky Kay and my brother go way way back so I could probably get a brother in law deal if I wanted it! HAHAHAHAHa!

EVERY bike needs it's own map IMO...I haven't seen two bikes run the same with the same map...yet...
FULL SYSTEM is the only way to go also IMO...
114mph 1/8mile MINIMUM and minimum of 137-142 in the 1/4 no matter what the ET...is the norm so you have your work cut out for you...
DON'T get discouraged!!! It will come your way with time/practice/tunning...
