weird power commander issue...
here's the rundown: put motor together, ran like crap. one cylinder working half the time. checked coils, changed plugs, checked all wires for voltage/ ground going to the injector. everything checked out. still not running right. missing and backfiring like crazy.
disconnected pc3usb. runs on all four but rich, as expected. plugged back in, back to missing. bad power commander right? wrong! apparently the map file was corrupt. put a zero map in it and it ran on all four, but rich, just like when the power commander was removed. reloaded the map, back to misfiring. loaded an all-zeros map in it again and started putting values in manually to match the old map and got it purring like a kitten 
anyone else ever hear of a problem like this?
