Electrical woes...

So my 01 12 left me on the side of the road without warning.
After an inspection I'm finding that the ground to the fuel pump relay isnt working. Ran a seperate ground wire to the (brown with yellow strip) wire to the relay and the pump works. Checked the relay itself and its fine. Checked the codes and it gave me a (45) which is fuel pump relay wiring open.. Opened the harness and followed the wire to the ecu and can't find breaks or wear. All fuses ok... not sure what else it could be. A ground wire shorted out a couple of weeks ago on my NLR and I fried a coil, fixed that and put a couple hundred miles on after. This just stopped like a blown fuse, no hints of trouble and no intermittent.

tried everything I can think of, I suck at reading wiring diagrams, any help would be greatly appreciated

Had a similar problem on a yamaha a few yrs. ago. After going through all the grounds, safety switches, fuel cut off switch,(tip over),etc. it turned out to be the ECU itself.I also fried a coil in the process it was getting hot and breaking down I replaced the coil thinking it was bad at first it still got hot that is when I found that it was loosing its ground internally in the ECU. Not saying this is your problem at all.Just stating that it seems similar to what you have going on.When you say shorted out a ground wire do you mean like (melted).
