ZX14 Wiring Help
I am installing a data logger on a zx 14 and need to know where to pick up the tach signal from. I called the logger manufacture and they could not help except to tell me that I could not connect to a coil because it would burn up the logger and that the injector would not work because it pulses multiple times per injection. Any help or advice would be appreciated.

I've got a Daytona Sensors logger and my tach signal is tapped off my #4 coil with no problems.
What brand do you have?

I have RacePak and they say that if I tap into the coil wire it will burn up the logger.

To the best of my knowledge, there is no normal "tach" wire on the 14. The 14 uses a Canbus system, which I believe uses multiplexed signals. I have use the coil wire/injector wire on Innovate products.
As for the injector signal, I believe it is a single pulse of varying length. Not multiple pulses per injection cycle. The injector wire is also commonly used on Innovate products when it comes to logging rpm.
I am no electronics expert, so I reserve the right to wrong.

Thanks Shane,
From what I've been able to figure out you are correct that the 14 doesn't have a tach wire, and that it is a CanBus system. I'll continue to try and get info before I try it the injector wire. I'd hate to have to purchase another box because I got in a hurry.
