- Identifying 12R Cams? -

I have a spare set of oem 12R cams here...but not sure what year they are from, nor when I picked them up.

What markings will identify them? I can post pics if needed.

Thanks!

I know my 2000 OEM cams have 320 stamped on them, I was told it was a "code number" for 200mph...........of course it might just be another conspiracy theory!!

I can dig mine out if you need anymore info from them.

Here are the markings on what I assume is the intake cam:

Any ideas?

that doesnt look stock to me... the lobes look narrow (reminds me of the busa i put together last winter cause it was a lot easier getting the DI on the bucket and not just due to bigger buckets), and ive never seen a pin like that on the end of an IN cam?

Maybe it is not the intake cam...but it is marked "IN"...and the other cam is shorter and marked "EX"?? I know they were supposed to be 12R cams.

Hmmm....I wonder what these go to? I remember that when I got them I thought, "Wow, they are a lot different from the 14 cams". Your's look similar to the 14 cams, as far as lobe width...

Scott have you ever seen 02+ cams?? Or just 00-01?

I am really stumped...I am pretty sure they are not 12R parts, after looking at yours...

Hmmm....

I havent, but Muzzy lists the 01-05 as being the same, but that could be just lift and duration not width. the 00 being the odd ball with cam rotor position

heres the big boys (weld up 00, above were 01)

edit, ive seen 02+ cams. i dont recall them being different. i have an 02 motor apart now. took the head off months ago... i should be able to double check them tomm and get a pic

Looking at that pic, no way are these 12R parts....unless the heads are radically different A->B model...which I don't think is the case.

They don't look to be Busa cams, from the pics I looked at...but maybe Suzuki...the "pin" on the end is like the Busa, as is the narrower lobe...

I think they are GSXR cams!!

Man, that is crazy...oh well, good cores for somebody once I track the part down. I wonder who got my 12R cams...and how they fit in that 'Zook?

I know they were supposed to be for the 12R. When I got them they just went in the floor next to a couple of sets of 14 cores. I never purchased any gixxer cams knowingly.
