New shop
Since getting back into racing I decided to finally build a shop. 30 x 40 with two 10 x 10 roll up doors and one 3 x 7 walk door. 15 x 20 sectioned off for climate control.
Pre-move in pictures:
Front:

Climated controlled: (double 3 x 7 doors open to rest of shop)

Tire station, parts washer, parking, storage:

Fabrication:

Now its time to move everything in and get ready for the Texas mile.

that's good advice; i know it's expensive, but bite the bullet!!!!!!
with all this rain, now is a good time to check for wet spots; if there are any, the epoxy won't last there.

I thought long and hard about this one. My concrete guy talked me out of it, and he does floor finishing. My concerns were:
1. The floor sweating
2. Keeping the floor clean
3. Looking cool.
I told him about sweating. He looked to the sky and asked me what bird baths are made of. Concrete. He asked if I had ever seen a bird bath leak. Well, no. Turns out “sweating” is condensation from moisture laden air over the cool concrete surface. In his opinion the best way to limit moisture was to keep the doors shut in the mornings. I did an experiment with the old garage and the new. Damn if he wasn’t right.
I wanted to limit dust and make cleaning fluid spills easier. If the concrete is cured properly there is no to very little dust. My slab was covered for two weeks before construction. Its concrete dust free. To clean fluid spills get the bulk up with Sorb-all then use Portland cement to pull the stain out of the concrete. I have since used Portland cement to pull stains out of the old garage floor. Did not completely remove them but there was a significant difference.
Looks. While the floor finish will look good; if you are planning to do any welding, grinding, or dropping metal on the floor it won’t look good long. I used the money to purchase an air conditioner instead.

Thanks for the offer Karl. I have a floor drill press. I have an old Sear 1/2" drill motor. The thing is a beast, seems a fair trade for the hoist. Its your if you want it.
Its old school. If you don't hang on tight it will take your arm off. Made before the days of tool liability. I upgraded to a Milwaukee 1670 Hole Hawg. Nothing stops that thing.

No caoting the floor, ran out of money. It was either coating or a/c. In Texas a/c rules!

Wow, IBEW is a close knit group.
Just so we are clear: TFA condones that kind of behavior but does not endorse it.
