lambda or planar?

well, with my new job, i have found access to piles of stuff.. like O2 sensors.. haha.. none of which so far are wideband.. so, i am kinda trying to figure out just how much more spectacular tuning with lambda is over a planar narrowband.

thoughts?

hell at this rate i can sample O2 on all 4 pipes and the collector as an average with the amount of sensors i can get. lol
i think i have decided on a megasquirt setup for the bike. probably an MS3x since it datalogs as well. i have to do some research.. it'd be nice to know if that logging was wideband.. so i guess if it is, how skewed the af numbers would be with a regular ass ol O2 sensor in place? and is it possible to accurately tune with it?

i think my goal is build the turbo motor over the next few months if my money works out right, and build the EFI system "on the side" then stab it on the bike and tune it and get accustomed to it's function and set-up. that way when i toss boost to it the learning curve is not so violent.

I can see how narrow band will give you any useful info.... they would only be able to help with light load cruising and idle conditions.

the MS3X will log the O2 channels as well as autotune. I have the MS3x and expansion board here. I am planning on trying to get it running on the zx-14 this winter.

HMMmm..

really?
you have that.. meaning you're probably familiar with tuning one as well?

you know.. this makes it all that much more enticing for you to adopt me....

i definitely WANT to do wideband, but i have been good about keepin this a budget build.. i would rather not sink 400 into a lamba and gauge if i can help it.. thus why i was sorta hoping a basic ass simple planar sensor would suffice for basic tuning..

who'd you get the MS stuff of of? anyone local carry it?

can you just get a used one (wideband) from a newer jetta or audi then use a volt meter live.
