I'll start - Crashed only once so far. Most of you guy's know my story, but I'll type it again for the Newbies...............

I was dragracing Kzz1 and we had switched bikes. I had been racing the Busa and was running low nines (Best to date 9.11). I was determined to get this Busa in the 8's. I knew the bike had the power, I just needed to get it there.

BTW - I had a little bonus when I hit an 8 second pass. Kzz1 would then let me have the NOS bottle.....I Like NOS!!!! LOL.........Stubborn ass Kzz1 would not let me use NOS until I was running 8's!!!!

So I had been running 9 teens the week prior and was ready to run that 8 second pass. Took a couple practice (easy) runs and ran 9.30's.....then thought, I am ready!!!! Pulled up to the line ready for that 8.99999 time slip.... Punched that Busa to full throttle out of the hole and was ready. Normally, the bike will wheelie coming off the lights (No problem).... I rode the 1st gear wheelie out and punched second gear (air shifter)..... Well.........

Normally the front tire would touch down for a mili-second and then start to climb again. With feet dangling of the back because I did not put me feet on the pegs till 2nd gear...........(Need all the weight I have over the tank)........ well, the bike never touched down, it climbed in the air as fast as the tire rotated...........by the time, I had chopped the throttle and shifted again to assist is bringing the bad boy down............The bike was past it's center of gravity.

I thought..........well, I am not getting out of this one. I pushed myself of the bike as it was coming over on top of me and almost cleared the damn thing... The windshield crashed into my leg on the way down.

Split my femur bone in half but Thank God - Nothing else was wrong with me. I am still recovering and will be ready to race again this spring (leg totally healed or not)

Anyone else got a story???? Any close calls????

Opening day March 2001, 1st pass 9.77 then 2nd pass I jacked myself up pretty good carrying a BIG wheelie into 4th gear with the bike fully slammed; I set down into tank slapper (no damper) and highsided at 1000' @ 120 mph broke both wrists and the steering travel limters; two operations to fix my ankle and leg with 4 permanent screws. Spent several months in a wheelchair and sat out the entire 2001 season. As soon as I could walk I got back on at the end of the year 2001; first ride on the bike literally was 7 hours to NC to run at Maxton, stayed overnight, rode it 7 hours home. Dont be scared! Took nearly half of 2002 to get my groove back; but now I'm in the zone again. Ankle still jacked up thus the permanent limp.. they call me limp bizkit at work. Guess that makes it 2 for 2 ZX12Girl!

"Limb bizkit".......... At least they were creative...

All I get at work is = Hop-a-long, Gimp, Gimpy, Crutch master...etc!!!

Not sure if I will have the same (permanent limp)....If I do, I hope they will come up with something original..

Only had one close call so far, I was racing a drag bike and he was being an ass about everything, I think he was scared and trying to throw me off of my game. Well the race happens and Im at about the 1000' mark and he is no where, so Im looking over and he is Way Back, and Im thinking Holy Crap Im going to break out by a mile! as I enter the traps, I hit my rear brake and start to pull the front when "ICE" I luckly did not pull very hard on the front and let it go very quickly, I just felt kind of a bobble, left then right of the whole bike then she straightened out. no biggie right Well my friends in the stands said they saw the entire side of my bike from where they were at by the starting line. Man I was Lucky, and I thank that lady alot. Oh I won and the guy cut a .980 light on my .580 LOL... so he psyched himself out...

I nearly "pulled an Angi" a mo ago with a wheelie which went PAST vertical. YIKES!!!! Thought fo-sho I was toast but slamming the throttle closed saved my lucky, fat ass. Toasted the oil pan and some plastic but escaped major damage. This is the 3rd time (and worst by far) I've had a major wheelie, so I guess its just a matter of time...

ANGI: how is yr leg doing??? Got any "stale" pain meds you might wanna loan me?? This am I am regreting ringing in the new Year quite so enthusiastically

I had a girl on a turbo twin go down into my lane...
When I put down the #1 qualifier for Super Gas at the NMRA World Finals...
The bike went over onto the road side & saved all her turbo stuff.
She was shook up a bit, but went out on her street tire Busa later...

It has to hurt to have a girl go down on you in front of all of those people !

I went on to place # 3 in the Super Gas Series for 2002.

That was a crash that I will probably never forget...

I DID fall ONCE...MANY years ago...when I "didn't know" there was an in-between all the-way-out and...all-the-way-in on clutches...
Was like ZERO MPH...on my '78' Z-1-R...can you say TANKER...
4K let the clutch lever GO...2" wheelie
4.5K " " " " " " " 4" wheelie
5K............................... .......8"
5.5K..........STRAIGHT UP...then "fell over to one side"...MAN DID I FEEL DUMB...
Still got to race that day though

I dumped my pit moped at the dragstrip

I don't race without "training bars" very often, and have never fallen off at the strip.

Full Disclosure: I fell off my MX bikes with such regularity that I stopped MX racing. Then I started falling off my various road race bikes at such an alarming rate that my SO(significant other) insisted that I close that avenue of pleasure off permanently as well. *sigh*

I caved to her wishes after I was pulled from the track by the corner crew(US Marshalls) with a doozy of a concussion, and a sprained neck.

I just remembered a serious Crash I had at Indy Race Way Park. It was about 1976 I was riding my QA50 Pit BikeI was (of course) in a Hurry and decided to "Jump" this small ditch (Maybe 4 feet wide), Well I didn't quite make it. Actually the bike Crashed into the Hill on the other side of the ditch and stopped Immediately. I then crashed Chest first into the Handle bars and then both me and the Bike fell over to the right. I could not breathe I hurt so hard and the People around me could not breathe either from laughing so hard, so I laid on the side of the Ditch with the QA 50 between my legs forever (2 or 3 minutes ) before I could get up. Here was the #4 ranked WERA Road Racer laying in a ditch whipped my a QA 50. I did not sell that bike until 1997 to a collector! Now, does this count??
