Leading up to the Mojave Mile, I was in contact with the forlks organizing the event. They publicly announced that they were most car guys and the bike thing was very new to them. That was one of the reasons they were a bit over the top on some of the rules. They were very open to suggestions and ultimately brought their guide lines right in line with everyone elses.
Very, very, very nice folks. Everyone of them.
