POR-15
who here has used it in a half tank? I got a small can. I was hoping to find it in a spray bomb, but the only place in town that even had the stuff has it in small, "dip your paint brush in it" cans ($65! better be good stuff)
do i have to put it on in a few light coats, or can i just dump some in and let it run around for a thick one and only coat?

Are you using the POR-15 Rust Inhibitor or the Tank Seal?

i used the POR-15 system on my 1/2 tank; seemed like there were a few steps, like Doug says, involving a rust inhibitor/cleaner.

its the Rust Preventive Paint (on the side of the can)
they told me i could use it in a gas tank. got a quart can. do i need different stuff?

POR-15 makes a specific tank rust sealant. The Black paint-like POR-15 (which is the shit) is for the inside of car frames and the like.
I'd go back and double check.

thanks, it was all they had, i asked 2 of the guys working there.
so the paint is not good for the tank? I can probly take it back and order the real stuff. or maybe order it online
