cams and nitrous

some general questions/theories i wanted to run by the experts

Ive noticed that stock cams are very similar when you compare IN to EX, not much difference.
Aftermarket grinds seem to follow the pattern of exaggerating the difference and going with more lift/duration on IN than EX

Q#1 in a NA setup, would the motor with aftermarket cams make more power if the EX cam matched the bigger profile of the IN or would it result in a loss of power?
I dont fully understand what goes into designing cam profiles, but ive noticed that my motor works ok with equal cams(2 stock IN) but they are very similar to the stock EX cam

With a nitrous motor I believe its generally accepted that you require more flow on the EX side compared to a similar motor that is running NA. easy to force feed it, but not so easy to get the extra gasses out

Q#2 if the answer to #1 is yes the performance will suffer or not improve from running "equal cams" would the nitrous motor benefit from the cam change, or should it rather have larger valves and ports instead of the larger cam.
the motor in question would be running about 80hp worth of nitrous. i doubt a small dry shot wouldnt really impact things, but Im guessing 80 wet should, and more would have more of an impact on the head and cam selection

thanks

interesting, but they seem to be backwards compared to our bikes as far as which valve gets more lift?

looking into some busa stuff, i see Carpenter is using .425 lift cams(unsure on duration) on IN and EX on some of the bigger motors(1397/1441 and up), and from what i see they like nitrous.

Scott - Carpenter has also gone back to using OEM size valves in big motors. Keep in mind these are smaller than the ZX12R's also.
