Fastest Bike in the World!
My Big Bro just sent this over to me...............so I thought I'd share.
Chris Carr and the BUB Racing team have done it again. Carr piloted the BUB Racing Streamliner Seven to a new motorcycle land speed record of 367.382 mph yesterday on the Bonneville Salt Flats at the Land Speed Shootout promoted by Mike Cook. The record is pending ratification by the FIM, but until then Carr has bragging rights once again as the fastest man on two wheels.
Carr shot over the salt with an average speed of 367 mph on his first pass over the recorded mile, with an astounding 372 mph exit speed. He was able to match the blistering pace on his return run to for his unofficial average of 367.382 mph. In the course of the two runs, he clocked an incredible 380 mph top speed.
The BUB Streamliner Seven is powered by a 3 Liter, turbocharged, 16 valve V4 engine that produces a claimed 500 hp and 400 lb-ft of torque @ 8500 rpm. Even more impressive is the fact that the ‘big bang’ engine has to fit in an 18 in. by 28 in. space.
Carr and the BUB Racing team recapture the title from the Ack Attack Team and Motorcycle USA correspondent Rocky Robinson. Robinson had taken the crown away from Carr last year at the Land Speed Shootout with a speed of 360.913 mph. Robinson and the Ack Attack team didn’t take to the salt during the BUB Speed Trials held earlier this month and whether he will make an attempt to reclaim the title at the Shootout is unknown.
The Land Speed Shootout was created last year and brings together the fastest wheel-driven motorcycles and cars. The invitational event is sanctioned by the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM) and the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA).
