I couldn't tell what was going on because that domestic terrorism soundtrack made me avert my eyes from the screen.

Hmm...that didn't look like much of challenge...

How about this:

Sunday, October 25th at Maxton. You vs. Me, motor to motor, top speed wins? Any fuel you want to run, but no spray.

2000 ZX-12R vs. 2007 ZX-14

Forget riding someone elses bike, ride your own.

Just to sweeten the deal for you, I'll let you know that I weighed in at 207 lbs. this morning. On paper, this is an easy win for you. Much lighter, better aero's, extended revs and close power at speed with your super-duper 12R ram air. Plus, you get the nod (by far) in experience. In fact, I would say that I would need a little luck and a great run to beat you. But I'm not afraid to step up to a challenge.

So, that's my offer. An official challenge, at an official event, with real time clocks....and riding our own bikes.

What do you say to that? Hey, let's have some fun with this!

Ummm....how about you start going faster instead of making me go slower? Just a thought...

You've had the nitrous kit for over a year now, put it out and see if you can break 200 mph at Maxton already!

I guess my terms were too fair...no bottle to fall back on, huh?

I've already been faster than you on motor at Maxton...so I guess you would be stepping it up.

Nah, not afraid to run Shane motor for motor at Maxton, the question is do I have the time and money to retune my bike....just to go slower than I do on spray...let alone on the the desire to do so? Nah, I'm trying to go 215. Shane's got a kit just ready to install....

Yeah, it's easier to install and tune a progressive nitrous kit than it is to remap for NA...right? Uhhh...errrr...ummm...whatever.

No worries, there is always next year!

Given my set-up I'd have to spend about as much time as Shane would to get dialed in, trust me on that, shane knows.

Nowhere near what it would take for me to install a 2-dial, window/rpm switch, spraybar, solenoid, lines, ignition modue, etc...and then tune it for spray.

But, like I say, no worries!

Why do you need all that? Just add more fuel in your fuel table, run some better fuel....you don't need the window switch....or 2 dial....you can install it quickly shane!! Lets go FAST, not SLOW!

Because I try not to set things up in a half-assed way.

If I'm not careful I could apparently end up with a bike incapable of running NA!!!

Wuss or not, what was really going on there? Who beat who? What was the level of tune of the two bikes? And why was it necessary to endure 1:16 of cacophonous assault in order to see seven seconds of relevant video?

Nitrous is nice, but there's no replacement for a stout N/A set-up.

Roy, something tells me your bike is the furthest thing from slow.

Any chance you'll be bringing it to Maxton soon?

Btw, how's the car doing?

It was pretty simple wasn't it? Lightweight on a gixxer 600 vs 2 heavyweights on an R1. I was on the gixxer 600....figured that was obvious. Both bikes: Dynotuned, pipe, pc3, BMC race filter. Gixxer was -1, R1 was -1 and +2. As for the track, turn the volume down on your computer, I could care less.
