Man, I thought I was the only "Clutch wisperer" LOL
What do the voices tell you........LOL
On a serious note, do you think they could be breaking on the end of the burnout, and not the hit on the line???

quote: No need. If it's shallower than stock and doesn't have some way of picking up at the rear, you're hosed.
This was a big topic on the 12 forum in 2001-2003. Do a search.
I am sure, at some point, having a rear pickup, or dry sump will benefit,,,,
But, knowing the issue that Karl had, with the pick up sticking, and I may or may not have lost motors due to the pan....., not sure what the best way is to go...., but if I ever get into a class where very quick 60s are needed......., I will go dry sump......., until then, I have 60 psi of oil pressure all day in the shut down area of a 1/4 mile drag strip, and the oil light never flickers on my coby pan......
If you run the koenig, and roof, baffle, whatever you want to call it IS needed........, and that was a quote from Koenig...... in the "Well, we are sorry, we know stuff now, that we did not know then" conversation with me.......
Some times, parts just fail as well........
My broken clutch fiber without the rings, could have just been a fluke.........
I may try that set up again sometime....., and see what happens..........

You're on it, NOX. What about a worn (notched) hub? Seems to me that that could break a plate if there was enough wear to increase all the air gaps to the point that a plate could cock and hang up.........

Funny how we all share info, but not someone that knows alot of things here???
It's not rocket science, its just learning the tricks needed to keep a 12 from breaking...But again some people keep it to themselves unless you give something in return for the secrets...LOL
Im not complaining about not getting the secrets needed, just stating an observation on who helps and who doesnt help their fellow 12 rider...

Karl is right we have a baffle in the pan very similar to the Coby pan(you can see it in the pics) aswelll as a baffle or "roof" for the oil pan to prevent the oil from going up into the trans... i guess it still wasnt enough.
to fix this issue cheaply, should i get a stock oil pick up and extend this oil pan down to factory level? i would still put the drain plug on the side so we would have at least 1/2 in more clearance than a stock pan.

The way you talk, I thought you had all the secrets........
Its pretty simple...., want to throw the lever, take static out. If it bogs out down track, take weight off.......
We talk about it all the time.....
I am so busy these days, I have been turning down business........
You know, I actually had a guy want to charge me to dyno tune my bike, just to push some buttons on a lap top......., and put my bike on a dyno....., what a freakin Ahole he was.........

From what I hear from a lot of guys, that is sometimes the culprit on broken fibers......
But, I just dont see how they are getting broken......
I broke the outermost fiber when I broke one......., but these guys that are breaking them on a regular basis, I think might be doing it when the clutch is real hot, and the fibers are weaker????? There has to be something causing it. The clutch in the 12 is not that bad......, and not nearly as bad as everyone thinks......., not being able to get low in the chassis due to the tank, and a higher first gear than a busa and 14 are part of the issue......, as far as it not being able to get into the lower 60s with the same set up........

so the rod journal is fukked , unless anyone is aware of oversize bearings like they use in cars?. its 3 thou smaller on the blackened part. they said it was fine if we could get thicker bearings, but i dont think theres anything other than the 3 oem sizes???
Im going to check with Marine about pricing for one journal repair, budget doesnt allow for a stroker right now. we actually have 1 bad crank (1 rod journal) allready that came with the bike. if anyone needs a core for a stroker LMK.

they do. Dad was talking to David today, then shipped the crank. next winter may see a stroker, but not this season, too much extra. repair for one journal was 240ish i think. cheaper than APE, didnt check Falicon
