Looks nice. What material did you use to make the dash?

Also, what is the significance of the "special edition" plate on the ashtray?

On your tank cover, the center plate has some sort of "special edition" plate on it.

The carbon is a lot lighter; I have just recently started using it. Here is some info on a few materials (copied from my build thread):

Ok, this is where some people will say I'm crazy....

Anyway, time for "Fun With Composites"....

Comparison, oem undertail bracket vs. bracket made from Garolite:

Oem, mounted:

Garolite piece, mounted:

Oem, Garolite, raw Carbon Fiber strip:

Weights:

Stock piece 2.6 oz.
Garolite piece 1.4 oz.

Finished carbon piece:

Carbon piece: 1.1 oz.

This was really just a little experiment. Garolite is a composite that is about 40% lighter than aluminum. Carbon is about half of the weight of aluminum. Garolite is about the same tensile strength as aluminum; carbon is much stronger. Garolite is only 20% of the cost (or less) of Carbon Fiber, however.

Here is a good page of info on metals and composites:

http://www.spambutcher.com/parts/materials.html

Just an FYI, I purchased these materials from McMaster Carr:

http://www.mcmaster.com

The Garolite, in a 1" x 24" strip was under $3, while the Carbon was around $10 for a 1" x 12" piece (both 1/8th thickness).

@Shane661

it is my first try - a mixed plate = thin aluminium / thin plastic / thin aluminium

my next one: only carbon !

i am a little crazy to !!!! to get my dragbike lighter ---- titan + aluminium bolts, and, and, and

the " special edition " it is 1 of 400 --- model 2000, zx12r limeted, only made for kawasaki germany -- that means: kawa green rims, kawa green fairings, open model !!! and some other little things
