Im multi tasking now Karl, on the govt of Canada site looking at online forms Im running the bike! (even if i have to get in the USA Mexican style lol)

im hoping you are right about the extra distance Mike. ill need it to take care of my newness to lsr. ive had the bike just about topped out in 6th on the stree.... cough "closed course" with 17 46 gearing.... low 180s? it was as high as i wanted to go without a steering damper anyway, but other wise it felt amazing. i was just vibrating afterwards from the rush. love it! been craving a bigger hit ever since . hopefully my iq wont drop too far going faster than that, but Ive been thinking really hard about getting/making one of those RR designed gear indicators to prevent the "6th to oh shit theres no 7th" scenario.

17/46 with a fresh stock 200/50 or 190/50 is good for roughly 183mph on the stock 11.6k rev limiter. Every 100rpm's off the limiter is approx. 1.7mph.... so if you were "close" to the stock rev limiter, I'd say 179-180mph. Get a handheld GPS, it's worth it's weight in gold during testing/tuning.

Slowly building up your comfort level with speed is very important. Right now 175-180mph may seem extremely fast, but eventually you'll reach a comfort level where those speeds seem "slow".

A lot changes from 180 to 200mph, especially since you'll be in that speed range (6th gear) for almost half the run. Those 9-10 seconds of 180-200mph speeds is where the fun is at! I'm confident you'll find out first hand. Oh, if you're looking for a quality damper on the cheap... search ebay for a used Scotts steering damper for ANY BIKE. The damper unit is universal, it's only the mounting hardware that differs and that can be bought seperately.

Anyway, if you decide LSR is great.... you may want to take a vacation to South Florida one of these days and run the 9/10th's. Basically it's a 1 mile side-by-side drag race where ET wins, not MPH. There's nothing like battling it out neck and neck in 6th gear... ask Shiphteey, he's hooked!

oh yeah!

listen to this man, he speaketh the truth!

I love the 1/4 mile, but the Mile is also way cool.
At the 1/4 you peak and dump the throttle.

At the mile you hit the limiter in 5th well before the 1/2 mile, shift, and the fun REALLY starts.

All this talk about Loring is making me jealous! haha

You know a lot of you guys are going to come home with a lot of track records being that you'll be the first to battle it out there.

Karl, you'll probably end up with more records than Sal!

Is it the same class structure as the SCTA/ECTA, NASA, or something different?
