WH,
are you gonna try it out???

It'll be a hoot being in on the 1st time it is done!

2,300 mi is a bit of a drive, but we don't count night driving time, so it'll only be 15-20 hrs or so for the Texas crew.

I think with the right weather condidtions Loring will be the fastest LSR Venue for our type of bikes.

Man O Man, if Mr. Guthrie shows up with Charlie's old ride I think 270+MPH might be in the cards.

Hope I can keep my stuff together long enough to make one good run down the Loring track!

I'm thinking about going too, I've been wanting to visit New England for a while. Looks cool, although I'm a bit leery of first-time events, long way to go and not get to run for some odd reason.

Not too sure about 270 Gary, that a long way from 259

wow, 1507 turbo? when too much is just right eh?
come on Ryan, road trip
you coming Shane?

I would love to go but it is about a 1600 mile trip each way for me. I already have at least 3 LONG distance trips planned for 09.

I just don't think it will happen for me. Not in 09.

Possible in 2010 however.

Dang Ryan, we will miss ya and dad too. Who is Karl going to swill coffee with at 4:10 in the morning?

Yep, does not sound like much but 11+mph more in an extra 1/2 Mile might be difficult. I think Mr. Guthrie does have Mr. Pollack lined up to run on that 636HP beast, just need the right weather conditions.

yesir entropy. i have every intention of competing sooner or later..

money is a HUGE issue right now.. i need a new turbo and gotta buy a TIG welder and eventually a dyno, so it's looking bleak.. but i have EVERY intention of it!!

i want 200 at maxton in the 750 class as well.. hehehe

eventually.. i don't think i'll be in the cherry-popping group simply because i don't think a few grand will fall out of the sky by then for me to get a new garrett T3 and synchrowave for the shop.. lol

eventually..

i need(want) a tig too... got to use one once on aluminum. it was cool
you dont need a dyno, just a data logger. ask Sal at ACE, allthough they are a great tuning tool... especially the factory pro type. right Karl ?
Im hoping for the 200 club. maybe a BIG shot of nitrous will get me there after some licensing runs I think i can get a half decent tuck(need to practise with a gps)

i was thinking a mobile dyno might make kilelr money at an LSR event, as well as track days and drag events.

i'm tried of being poor.

i need something to make some cash!! haha..

problem is, it takes it to make it.. and dyno's aren't cheap.

Strong rumor confirmed by Mr. Caputo and Mr. Noonan that it will just be a 1 mile venue. Very sad if it is true. Don't know if it'll be worth the trip with the Texas Mile in my back yard. I'll post more as soon as things come up.

hopefully they run the 1.5. definately would have a bigger draw. even still, 1 mile would be longer than what im used to! ill be there either way. maybe later events will have a longer track even if the first event is a mile?

I sure would like to go up, even if it's just to say hi to KZ and some of his Northern buddies.

I am just guessing, but I think they reconsidered 1.5 miles so as not to step on any of the other LSR venue's toes until they are more established. These fellas are well connected with the salt, dirt and eastern paved venues, I am sure they do not want to take any prestige away from the other LSR events. I guess you would call it Diplomacy/politics. Just my idiots two cents.

More comments from Mr. Wanner

The accelerating surface at Loring is over 90% asphalt, only the first 1000 ft is concrete. Better news for tires, not so much for the ideal traction of 100% concrete. Like somebody else commented, it's like a very wide straight older asphalt country road.
Every vehicle will be considered according to it's Safety equipt, it's speed potential, and the drivers' experience. It's everybody's first event there, and Safety will be the first, second, and third consideration. I will be a major PIA on this. We all go 25 mph faster @ a time, one increment per run. The only considerations will be to current SCTA/ECTA Comp licenses, but the rookie run policy will apply. I'd recommend serious inspection of the brake system, practicing using BHP for deceleration, (usually not so much used in LSR), appropriate laundry for a longer faster course (cars) , and a stock of fresh readily available underwear if all the former doesn't provide prompt access to the return road.
After the pavement ceases, it's sandy soil, then Canada.
JON !!!... Really gonna miss NANCY, and you. All that could go rong, date-wise, went rong with our first event. Next event you can do a "LTALKs" up here. We will get somebody to post daily updates to this site, I promise.
We got a cadre of Great Volunteers, car and Bike techs from up this way, I'm very happy. Hope to have some very state of the Art Timing equipt, and our tin cans Commo got fresh strings !!! lol, relax.

Maxton rules say start at 125 unless you can show them LSR tix. They let us start at 150, but you gotta get close to 150 to show you have track & bike awareness. Then 175, then 200. Trying to hold it at 175 +/-10mph was more of a trick than i thought it would be. Who looks at the speedo?
The speedo on a ZX12 w/18/43-44 will read pretty close to true
