Countersprocket RPM?

a countersprocket became a topic of discussion earlier, and my friend was a bit amazed that such a little piece of metal was responsible for putting down so much power and speed. i am wondering, what RPM would a 17T spin @ maybe 10K rpm?

rear sprocket wouldnt dictate how fast the countersprocket would spin, would it? lets say first gear.
thanks

I'ld have to disagree with that. The front sprocket can only go as fast as the motor turns.Red line is the same no matter what gear.If anything, because of the speed limiter, 6th gear would be the slowest.

Not exactly right.
the front -rear sprocket establish a ratio, But the Transmission dictates the speed of the front sprocket in relation to the engine speed. 17/42 gears is a 2.47 ratio meaning
ever time the front sprocket turns over 2.47 time the rear sprocket turns once.
The transmission has different ratio for each gear.
for understanding purpose only 1st gear 6to1 , 2nd 5to1, 3rd gear 4 to 1.... 6th gear 1 to 1.
in first gear the engine has to turn 6 times to make the front sprocket turn ones,
but the front sprocket still has to turn 2.47 times to make the rear wheel turn once.
meaning the engine has to turn 6*2.47 (14.82) revolutions to make the tire trun over 1 complete revelotion. using the example numbers , in 6th gear 1 engine turn would result in 1 sprocket turn , still 2.47 front sprocket turns to make 1 rear turn. 1*2.47(2.47 ) engine revolutions per rear wheel revolution. the higher gears make the front sprocket turn faster at the same RPM. The bike is RPM limited in 6th gear.
going up on the front sprocket , down on the rear or a larger rear tire will increase the true speed before the limiter kicks in. IF YOU HAVE THE HP to use them.

edit: typed in respose to AA not ninja12 (nice math btw )
so you are saying that the front sprocket turns faster in first?
since its directly linked to the rear sprocket, and the rear sprocket is connected to the wheel, and the wheel turns faster in higher gears, how is it possible for the front sprocket to be moving slower in high gear?

front turns faster in sixth, basically one to one ratio so it would be spinning the exact rpm the motor is spinning, in 6th gear. say 1st gear is a 6-1 ratio, it would be spinning 1/6 of engine rpm in 1st gear.

ninja 12 explained it pretty good.
