whats the best crankcase sealant

i'm getting the parts together for reassembly.what sealant you guys like.also i found the first fiber in my clutch pack broke in 10 pieces when i pulled the stack out. this is the second time it has happened.the fibers and steels are original and in spec. thats with 43,000 miles and 105 1/4 mile drag strip runs.their in a muzzy billet basket.the clutch felt and worked great.this fiber i'm talking about is smaller width wise than the rest of the fibers.only one of these fibers is in the stack. the anti rattle spring is in side of it.i guess the little bastard can't take the power..thanks for any replys.

Ive used yamabond and honda sealant, then I had to get an engine together and my honda sealant went to shit so I decided to use black RTV permatex and it's worked great ever since no problems.

Yamabond

It lasts in the tube forever, and seals like nothing else........, My motors stay dry as a bone....

Just clean the cases real good with laquer thinner before applying........

IMHO, Yamabond is more like a "permatex". I recommend

ThreeBond Liquid Gasket 1104 for machined surface sealing.

I am not indicating that "Yamabond" is not a good Oil Resistant Sealant. However, It's color and consistantcy more resembles "Permatex".

That's why I recommend the 1104 for the cases.

Porter Mfg. & Supply Corp., has been the only manufacturer and distributor of Gasgacinch Gasket Sealers for over 50 years in the USA. Our Gasgacinch Gasket Sealer is among the most proven adhesive in the industry. Manufactured from premium grade materials, Gasgacinch offers the best in PERFORMANCE, DURABILITY, and QUALITY for true professional results. Gasgacinch's unique formula is designed to hold gaskets in place during assembly.

In contrast with pasty sealants, Gasgacinch is very fluid, which allows it to flow into tiny fissures and cracks, sealing air pockets where other paste sealants fail. When cured, Gasgacinch is flexible, has high-peel strength, high-shear strength, fatigue resistant, vibration dampening, high heat resistant, gasoline resistant, and oil resistant.

Gasgacinch also allows easy cleanup when competitors require solvents or destructive scraping to clean off your work surface. Gasgacinch adheres to carbon steel, alloy steel, aluminum, titanium, lead, magnesium, synthetic and natural rubber, copper and cork.

Yamabond and ThreeBond 1104 are "IDENTICAL" products, as well as industry standard products of choice.
Going extremely thin and letting both sides skin for a full minute or so, will seal great and still allow the case halves to be easily seperated later.
