8.99 or better on a ...
stock swingarm, stock motor....
anyone done it? What are the highest 60s you can run to go 8.99 w/a jockey?
Planning on getting down to low 1.5s this season.

if it can be done i would think your gonna have to have a lockup clutch. its going to be a wheelie fest trying without a long swingarm......your gonna wear that bike for a hat trying.
to me this is where the most skill and excitement is drag racing a bike.leave the wheel base stock and see how good a rider we really are...........its really fucking hard.

30-40 lbs eh? Hmmm. 1.4s would get my light ass in the 8s with a 60 shot I'm sure....hopefully no wheelies with a 60 shot in 2nd....40 shot 2nd gear never has me wheelying....don't wanna shell out the $$$ for a complicated nitrous system, just want to get it done with my cheap dry kit and make some jetting changes....that and the fistfull of sprockets I have.

Highest 60's to run a 8.99, Hmmmmm, you could run a 2.0 and still break the 8's. All you need is enough HP.
Thats really not the ticket to get into the 8's
330' mark is realy more important, you can have a great 60' only to wheelie later and screw the whole run up.
If your best is a 9.4, your going to have to bring that 330' mark down 4.1 tenths. Or add a whole lot more HP,
For every 40 lbs you add its like losing 10 hp or so.
200hp and a 5.7x in the 1/8 will get an 8 second pass.

3.8 in the 330 is what you should shoot for at least......
180 to 185 hp will get an 8 second pass with a 5.7 in the 1/8 for a light rider.

maybe a bar bike, but 185hp with a 5.7 wont cut it. Not at our track anyways
Let me rephrase that. 185hp really wont net a 5.7 in the 1/8. And a 5.7 doesnt mean a 8.99
Or a 160 hp on a bar bike will net a 5.7 but not a 8.99.
Or 185 hp will have to have a 5.55-5.60 to run an 8.99
Or 185hp will net 148 mph in the 1/4
And every street bike I have ever seen run an 8.99+ was pulling 153+ mph in the 1/4
At our track anyways.

Well, I'm about 175 off spray and 40 more on. I can hit it in 2nd, no drama. Not sure if I can play around in 1st....for sure if I up it to a 60 shot I'll have to wait till 2nd, no chance for first.
Best of 6.2 1/8 and 9.4 in the 1/4....I'm about 130-135 in gear now!
Practice practice....

Where are you running? I have run 9.2s with high 5.9s in the 1/8......., in 104 degree heat......., with mid to high 1.4s in the 60 ft...........
Take what I have turned now with my mild multi stage tune up in 1.38 short times, and cold air.........., and 8.9s are attainable......., considering, that low 5.8s were turned in the 1/8, with 98 degree heat, and 3800 DA air........ Give the same set up and rider, the -200 DA air we had at the track the other day........., and you can do it.........
Main thing with the stock wb bike is going to be the 330 foot time............, it will be VERY hard, but not impossible..........
Make sure and stage VERY shallow, and it will help the ET. It will hurt the reaction time, but help the ET, by giving you a better run at the finish line.........

BTW, 60 ft is not the number you look at, it is the 330......, a lot of guys knock out killer 60 fts, but the bike is not done with 1st gear yet........, you can have the same 60 ft times, and gain in 330 if things are working right..........
You can actually gain 60 ft, but lose 330 if things are not set up right, due to bog after the 60 ft............
Or do like I used to and trip the 60 with the back tire half the time, due to being out of adjustment on a two stage lock up..........

Ya NOX, I see what your saying but I just dont see it happening on a non bar bike.
Ive been 9.21 with a 5.92 and a 1.43. That would mean I would have to turn a 1 .21 to get that 8.99. Thats with good air. Every one complains our track is slow here In San Antonio.
Oh and our dynos are cheap skates also, that was with 165 hp indicated.
I taken several bikes into the 8's . A busa that indicated 211 hp on our stingie dyno, mine which indicated 203 on our dyno, both went 5.7's in the 1/8 with mid 1.4 short times.
Both on a hand clutch
I would really like to go to a better track, my shit might fly there.
I am looking at my 8.88 ticket, I ran against a KZ barbike, he had a 1.25 60' a 5.75 1/8 and a 9.21 1/4 @ 138 mph

Right, 138 mph at the 1/4, I run 136 to 137 in 1000 ft..........
I have heard guys complain about san an, what is the elevation? I have run at RRR in march, and it was fast........, but then ran it in aug, 138 degree track temp, 104 degree air, 4500 DA air.........,
But, go to Houston, with good cold air........., and it can be done., but all would have to be right.........
Like I said, it is doable, but I am not saying everyone can do it. I have heard this dude is like crackhead skinny........, he would run 5.6s on my bike right now.........
Good luck with the effort........

Thats part of the problem there.......
From what I am told, Houston's track is a couple feet below sea level.........
it can be done somewhere like RRR maybe, its like 400 ft, but Belle Rose, or Houston, or Pomona, which is 14 feet downhill from start to finish.........
