digi-kill 2 vs 3 ?
just noticed that muzzys has a digi-kill 3 out, how is it different than #2? (i thought that #2 was all digital?)
From Muzzys site:
The Digi-Kill 2® matches the kill time to coincide with the actual movement of the shift linkage. Momentarily stopping fuel delivery instead of killing the ignition results in smoother power interruption and less backfiring. Double shifting due to "button bounce" is eliminated and repeats the same sequence regardless of how long the button is held.
From Muzzys site(about the new digi-kill 3):
For the first time you are able to digitally match the kill time to coincide with the actual movement of the shift linkage. Unlike analog kill boxes, the Muzzy Digi-Kill momentarily stops fuel delivery instead of killing ignition resulting in a smoother power interruption and less backfiring. The Digi-Kill eliminates double shifting due to "button bounce" and always repeats the same sequence regardless of how long the button is held

possibly Digikill 2 was superceded by DK3 because of DK2's propensity to fail.
My DK2 failed and Muzzy replaced with what I assume is a 3.

standard air kill does the same thing by adjusting the length of the air lines between cylinder and air kill and I have never heard of button bounce or double shifting, my air kill doesnt care how long the button is held down either, sounds like new old technology. Thats why I use standard air kill, somethings just dont need re-inventing, thats just my opinion anyways. Sounds like some have had problems with these type kill boxes, just another reason for me not to fix what aint broke

they are saying it has a delay adjustment to delay the engine kill after pressing the button so you can time the digital kill with the slower air movement of the shift ram cylinder and linkage. this can better fine tune your shift when using electric over air setup.

I think my Digi kill died also ....Never missed a shift in over a year ..But the other day my zx14 would not start ..I tried everything like P/C, fuel Pump and it still would not start ..I unplugged the Digi kill and it starts right up..Put it back in and no start ...I ordered a Digi kill 3 from Schnitz and i hope it fixes the problem ....If not i'm lost ..... What did your Digi kill do when it took a dump ?
