Currently - I run with one tooth down in the front(17) and stock rear.

We are planning to add a couple teeth in the rear and try that.

Im running 17/48 and dont particularly like it because it shortens the wheelbase even more from stock.

Im going to switch to the 16/44 like recommended by a few others to see how that goes.

Ill seel my SS 48 rear if you like only has a few thousand miles on it

Try 16 front 44 rear (longer wheelbase 2.75 ratio) or just step down one tooth in the front and keep the stock rear (17/46) 2.70 ratio. You don't want too much gear with your weight but a little will help. Here are some pics of 16/44.

I put an extra link in when I put on a new chain for the 17/48 gearing, so my adjusters are most of the way back. I think I have room to go to a 17/50 setup, but that's all got to wait till I get back from Laguna. Was thinking of just setting the bike up for Bonneville and leaving it, but damn, there's a half season of drag racing between now and October. I could leave the lockup clutch on it for now, and just keep firing it down the quarter mile. Wonder how it'd come up on the bars with the 17/50?
