Whoa!! Monster Oil discussion!!!!
http://www.ducatimonster.org/smf/index.php?PHPSESSID=212dc45e24a20c2bcf6dcfb1b435fa89&topic=38314.0
Ducati Monster forum; WAY informative thread on oil properties wrt MC motors. Basically a Ducati enthusiast/Lube Engineer patiently answering questions.
Its 20p long, took me 2 hrs to read, definitely worth it.
In posting this link, I kindly ask any resulting visitors to that site to read at least some/most of the thread before posting questions to George. No sense cluttering a really fine thread with stuff that was answered earlier on.
I sure learned some stuff there

Sounds like 1/2 inch studs When you are big, Torque is God! When you are Little, HP is God! Dr. Gary is "Big" He will need the Torque!

He was underweight! The bike ripped of f one of the radiator hose when it dropped - there was no coolant in it for the majority of the race.
If ever you needed a testament to Hondas engineering, the fact that the bike did the majority of a SBK Grand Prix running dry, then that is it!
Unbelievable stuff!

Not only Honda's engineering, but Ten Kate's ability not to compromise the integrity of that engineering during the development of their race package, including oil selection. I've seen plenty of examples of that integrity being undermined.
