Muzzy Billet Block: like a Kaw pissing on a flat rock
new 87mm block & pistons, big valve head, started up instantly.
I was happy as I could be until i went to the other side of the bike. grrrrrrrrrrrrr.....
Looks like pin hole porosity or some such tech term.
It's pissing thru a v small hole in the block, NOT the headgasket.

i'll not touch it until I call colonel Saunders @ Muzzy on monday.
Went to my dyno guy yesterday and he loaned me some "whammer-jammer" (Osti TM) Locktite 0151 Hysol epoxy. He says it WILL stop the leak.
If Muzzy is delayed in getting me the replacement block, Andy recommends to put this stuff on the leak so we can break-in and dyno-tune the motor next weekend.
god almighty, i've been in this motor more than my my neighbor was in my ex wife

I feel for you Karl. Frustrating enough when it has to come apart because I hurt something, much worse when it's someone else's fault. This level of unchecked QC is a little surprising. -Dean

I understand your frustration. If it were me, I wouldn't like this suggestion, but I'm pretty sure there's a satisfactory solution short of taking your engine apart, and shipping the block back to Muzzy.

I will certainly see what Colonel Saunders (Dave Turner) @ Muzzy says tomorrow but several knowledgeable folks have said they fixed holes in water jackets with epoxy. That would sure be easier.
Mega, speak to me bud!!! what do you have in mind?

yep, that is the RIGHT answer, and will happen. But maybe after the Mile.
HEY, why don't you come down for the Mile; I'll have the forms for your gas card there.

MM,
cool!!! Thanks for the pic.
I am definitely leaning towards expoy as a temp fix, but wanna hear Muzzy's Dave Turner is gonna do for (to) me first.

Get it replaced. You paid good money only to find out that it has a defect. From where it's leaking Muzzy should have no choice but to stand behind it and send you another.

Muzzy has been "berry berry good to me" and i have no doubt we'll work it out, but i am exploring the epoxy as a temp fix prior to replacement

Buddy,
I talked with Ken this morning and he said the same.
Muzzy doesn't have a block in stock so i am going for the epoxy temp fix.
I'm getting a "whammer-jammer" (osti term, TM) product from locktite which oughta do it fine.
