nhra questions
our local track in ill. was ihra and now is nhra, i am going to race my 14 there, will there be stiff rules? i have what i think is a legal bike and will probably bracket race, helmet is up to date, joe rocket leather gloves, with sliders, but no long cuffs, full approved leathers and no boots yet. will i need a license and how do you get one?

are you by Cordova?
anyway... anything over 120mph will need full leathers. you will also need boots but really anything above the ankle will work. shoot go to K-mart if you have to...
also anything faster then 10.000 meaning 9.99 or quicker will need to have an NHRA license which means you have to go and take a physical to get your license... then make a couple of shakedown passes depending on the track and how strict they are...
they will proably make you have a kill switch also...

license form:

medical form:

Do the physical first, then take that form and the license app to the track. Six single passes, get two licensed racers (can be car guys), and the track manager to sign, and you're done (oh yeah, and you get the privilage of also joining the NHRA and getting National Dragster every week).

I also changed my arm right before a track day and didn't have the chain guard on or the kill switch! I made the kill switch for a key chain but was unable to find a chain guard for an extended arm! Now my question is do we need an extended chain guard or a any guard that works? Also, is there any cheap places to get a good set of leathers?

MPS has like 350 leathers.... BUT if you go down you will totally regret it, Bates is really the way to go... they last forever if taken care of and if you go down you will be much much better off.
on the chain guard legally it needs to be to the center of your rear sprocket, some people care and some dont really give a care... so it really depends on the tech guy and what kind of event you are at...
