Starting to get down there!!! (ET)
Well, I have had the hubby's Busa at the track a couple times now and I am starting to get the feel for the new set-up.
Bikes running strong!!!
Ran a few 9.4's last week and now 9.3's yesterday...The bike still has more to give as soon as I become more aggressive at launch!!! (I am getting there)
Here is what a couple of the slips look like! Missed a couple rmp's on a shift for both. (late shift)

I am going to work on the 60ft times next time out. I am pushing for 9.teens
Hubby is running 9.7's on the Busa and 9.8's on the ZX12R. He's too damn worried about how I am doing and how the bikes are running to focus on racing himself.

I have only made two passes on the ZX12R but I know that I can get more than this with the 1270!!:P
2nd pass - ZX12R
60ft................. 1.767
MID MPH..............121.62
660.................. 6.364
1/4 MPH..............151.52
ET................... 9.591
This was run while burning up the clutch to hold the front wheel down. We have yet to get the rear suspension set-up (too high).
I am gonna run the 12 Friday and see just how low I can get it!! I need to change my signature to "LIVE TO RACE"

I'd imagine that it's difficult for you to go from bike to bike..... Just as you're working on the "feel" for a bike's launch, power and clutch.....BAM, time to ride a different bike! Then it just goes 'round, and 'round, and 'round!
Looks like the Bus is puttin'out some good power too! Must be fun!
Between everyone at this board, and the Bus' at my track, I'm going to have to get an arm and Nitrous! I feel like the slow guy these days!

You know what BA....
I felt like the Slow one all last year. With reading all the times on the board, I still feel slow.
But, when I show up at the track, I am not seeing anyone putting down the numbers that I read about all the time. The only other ZX12R that I have seen running any numbers in our area is Need4Speed. Now, he is running (9.4's - stock motor)!!!!
But, I went to the track Wednesday and watched about 8-10 Busa's and Zx12R's all running in the 10's!!!!
Drag Racing for me is all about having a good time and getting my little rush of acceleration!!!

As soon as I get the Busa to 9.1's - 9.0's...I am going to see what the Zx12R will do.
I really want to race the ZX12R. I get tired of hearing how the Busa's are faster than the ZX12R.

Damn Angie, that Busa is making HP to pull that kinda MPH in the 1/8th!! You would be very close to KCadby and ZRXDean!! Fantastic times!!! I assume the Busa is all motor??

Yeap, both bikes are all motor.
Busa = 1363cc
ZX12R = 1270cc

Wow... that's some serious power Angie - very nice times. You'll be in the teens or better soon I bet, all you need is a bit faster launch. Do you have Frank's arm on your 12 yet? Any recent pics?

Looks like you chopped 1/2 a sec off yr ET's!!! (more or less).
Slam that clutch out and you'll chop 2 tenths off yr 60's and you'll be knocking on 8's!!!!!!!!!
lets hear more of yr track tales. My bike is in surgery and I need a fix, so lets hear more!!

We have just been going to test-n-tune nights so I haven't bothered with any video or pic's. I wanted to see what the bike would do first.
Yeap, both bikes have Franks Arm!!!

Bummer......What's wrong with the bike????
I am wishing for just one 8 sec pass. Isn't that funny how when you are in the 10's - it's "If I could only get a 9 second pass"....then you start running 9's and then that is not fast enough....

At the Track!!!
I actually got into it with one guy at the track. He did not own either bike, but thought that he was a know-it-all. He started telling his wife that the Busa is faster than the ZX12R. And just kept on talking "Yeah! Any Busa would smoke a ZX12R..." blah,blah, blah!!!
So me being the Kawasaki Fan that I am. I said...." I beg to differ!"...LOL...I dipped all in his converation, but I had to correct him......I said "Have you ridden either bike?"....."The only ZX12R's and Busa's that I have seen here, have been running the same times!!!!"..."You just wait till I start racing my ZX12R, then you will see just how close these bikes really are!!!" I wish that Need4Speed would have been racing with us that day!!!! He would have smoked all the Busas!!!
I dream about racing my ZX12R in front if people like that!!! They just don't understand...IT's the Bike set-up and Rider that make the difference!!!!
Do you guy's hear that kind of crap at your track????

Hear it all the time. Mostly I enjoy hearing those types of tales because its so entertaining. Like some local guy claimed to be running low 5s on an otherwise stock Busa.
A bike that is 6" over, slammed, piped, airshifted with a shootout tire and all the guy can do is 6.40s in the 1/8th at maybe 111 tops! (and thats with a lightweight guy aboard). Impressed?? Naw, not when I can ride my bike to the track, fresh from a 1500 mile road trip pack some 10lbs of extra weight, fully suspended and run a 6.70s @ 112 all night long !
Heck, I got more respect for the local guys that just run stock wheelbase and lowered that are 1/10th slower than "Mr Heavyhitter" ..lol
Or another doofus that I ran into Sat. Slammed ZX6R about 8" over. When I inquired about the bike, he told me "Its fast" then later claimed "..its got a ZX9 motor shoehorned in...totally custom" When I asked for hard numbers, he tries to change the subject to his dragbike that runs "9s".
I asked at what mph...he replied " I didnt even look!"
I laughed and offered a match race. He clammed up pretty quick.

There was a guy running a extended Busa with NOS and claimed that it was all motor!!! Well...The dumb butt was only running 9.7's - 9.6's at best!!! (No motor work)...I guess that he wanted us to think that he had really spent some $$$ on his bike.
I know that there are alot of guy's out there that spend big $$$ to go fast and do not wanna give up all their secret's....I can respect that....But these hillbilly back yard shit talkers really get on my nerves!!!!

I just had to pipe in on the subject because for some reason there just AREN'T any of those types of guys at my track!!! I mean, I'm glad and everything, but heck, why aren't they here?!??! I got no good hill-jack stories to tell!!
Fuckit, I'm going to start makin up my own! I'll get me some bib-overalls, throw a bunch of dirt on my ballcap and my T-shirt, put a rip in it, and start telling people my stock 12R runs 8's and it's the fastest thing alive. 
I won't run it of course, I'll just park it on the side of the staging lanes..... heheh
Guess I'll be needin' some 'chaw too......

nothing wrong with my bike at all. its just like you say, "once in 10.'s you want 9's. then 8's... I'm having cams, springs, light porting, a bit higher on compression, and going up on the stroke by .6mm

you know what shuts up those talkers fast... flash out 2-3hundy and say hey lets go heads up and shoot even if they can run any #'s there usually so scared not looking bad they screw up something.... Most of the time it is not the loud one's you need to worry about it is the quiet one's laying low on the side of the track...

Good times Ang. Heard you where at OC Friday. Wish I could have made it but was preoccupied!!! I am racing this Friday I hope. Lost another 15 pounds. Hope to be down to 240 by the weekend. I want to check out your 12
