BEST LENGTH TO STRETCH!!
I'm about to stretch the swing arm on my new 14. I have a 10" on my 12R.
I'm thinking to stretch the 14 about 13"!
GOOD IDEA? BAD IDEA? MORE? LESS?

13"? Is the bike going to be dedicated to the drag strip only or are you trying to make it as long as a chopper?

The bike will be for the track and street.
My zx12r is 10" stretched and it rides fine on the street, I don't see how 3 inch' more will hurt.

13" is crazy long for the street and not needed for the track unless your putting down 500hp. 6" to 8" is just fine and looks good too.

I have to agree with Teddy...
I would not go over 10-11max...
I ride my 12 on the street and it is no fun at all at 10 over...

I'm about 10" over on my bike and don't want to go any longer on the street. I'm actually thinking of going back to the 6" to 8" range to help better my skills on the strip.

Good idea Ted...Mine is set at 68" on the wheel base length...What's that, about 10 12" over????Way to long for the street...Sure does get some rubber neckers though...LOL...

Have to agree. Mine was 8 inches exact but still was overpowering the street. had to bring it in about an inch and ride the hell out of the clutch! On the track, she is great still. Just strap it. leaving at about 4500.

I've brought mine back in to 66 1/2". Now I have to work on my clutch control some more. Pulling the front wheel up on a good hard launch.

With lengths like that you need a class 3 license for straight job trucks or tractor trailers

after 10" you'll need a second person to steer the back of the bike. Kinda like those ladder trucks the fire department has...lol

I am 11" over with my ZX-14, McIntosh arm. Still lifts the front a bit but not enough to have to back out of the throttle. I've had 1.33 short times but average 1.36-1.38's with the stock clutch and U-soft Shinko 180-55.
I do not ride on the street, strip only and it is awesome at 69".
