Slowest First time at track
Ok I know some of you have had some slow times at the track especially when it was a first run.
Now this is my first time running a 1/4 mile in any vehicle. I made a bunch of mistakes, and hope to perform much better the next time. I used my clutch like a dummy and spun my wheel in second gear, short shifted myself at 7500-8000 rpm, did not open throttle fast enough, etc. I was only able to make one run due to many track delays and previous commitments so here it is.
R/T .241
60 ft 2.41
1/8 mi. ?
1/8/mi speed 94.??
1000 ft ?
1/4 mi 13.54
1/4 mi speed 118.6
Ok now you can laugh your ass off. I will post the rest of the numebrs when I get home but I dont think it matters much. LOL I must qualify for some award like slowest busa rider in the world.
In 2 weeks I will go again.

Can't get worse.Don't get hung up on anyone elses time.If you had fun, then it was a good run. After a couple more trips to the track, you'll be able to laugh at this one and see your progress.

Just keep at it. Your MPH you trapped @ the end was exactly what I trap on my CBR F2 in the 1/4. I run 7.3-7.4 @ 98 in the 1/8. I'm saying that not to be a jerk, just to give you an idea of how much more there is in your bike. From the 1/8 mile marker to the 1/4 mile marker you were essentially accelerating at about the same rate given the trap speeds. Just practice.
All 3 newbs I brought to the strip ran 8s in the 1/8 mile their first time out! They were on a K6, a cbr 1000rr, and a zx12.
Drag racing is NOT easy! Especially your 1st time. Add in the fact that you are using a Hayabusa...not exactly a slow vehicle!!!! ......TOO MUCH to deal with! Practice practice.
If I were you I'd lower it and thats IT! No power mods, no sprocket changes. Just get used to it. Launch around 5k....you know it'll wheelie in 1st....2nd is more tame.....you should be able to really pin 2nd and 3rd as you trap the 1/4.
Good luck next time!

I know I need more practice especially in the launch. The bike has alot more potential than I have riding experience and comfort so I will build up to it.
So far I have lowered it about 2"- 2.5 " in the back and almost an inch in the front. No mods to power have been done.
I definitly need to learn how to get the most out of what I have before I mod it. The only option I may add is bolt on cans. .
