hard compression damping = less wheelies
I went to Houston Raceway last nite and did 4 passes with soft compression damping and 4 passes with hard. Borrom line is that my bike was MUCH more wheelie prone in mid/top of 1st gear with soft compression damping.
Seems like everyone has their personal take on rear suspension settings, but this was pretty clear difference. I was fighting wheelies and running 9.3's with a soft setting, then when I put it on hard it was running 9.2's and not coming up. Go figure.
Also finally got to meet Jackbone and Outer Limits dude

I agree. Some busa riders will tell you soft is good but the busa launches differently than the 12. 12's like stiff rear suspension so that is what I go with. I wound the adjuster a little tighter too in conjuction with the dampening and rebound.

I find with compression at minimum and rebound at max it works not too bad so far so good thanks to KevKadby for that one.

I guess it's a subjective thing, cuz I like my ZRX as soft as possible, with slow rebound. Might be specific to the torque, gearing, weight, and SMOOTHness of the particular bike/rider.

Dean I believe that you hit that one right on the head.. I think most of it has to do with what a rider will do with their launch.. I believe all of us have a slightly diffrent launch style.. I like mine soft comp. and hard on the rebound.. but Im going to play around with it some test and tune night and see what kind of improvements I can get..

I always found that stiffer in the rear is better (with stock swingarm). Soft in the rear allows it to drop on launch, which is causing weight to transfer to the rear, causing wheelies. If your having traction problems though, it can be just what you need.
