Looks tro me like 12.5 degrees Retarded! No Performance there . The way I know how far off you are is the fact that you have the set screws at the limits and they should be in the Middle. As YCIS Said, "EVERY" Notch is 5 degrees and if you move the mark in the middle between the center mark and the next mark you will have 2.5 degrees (As close as "YOU" Dare try for 2 degrees)

Are you guys sure? If you look at eh spacing, it would be about 180 degrees to make 1 trip around the advancer. If it was 5 degrees, it would take 360 degrees. What it looks like to me!

all the replys got me motivated to find the paper work,i was successfol, not much text, but there is a picture,it is oriented the exact opposite of my picture (lines on the bottom)

arrow pointing to the center line ''zero change from stock"

arrow pointing to the lines on the left,"retard settings,5 deg.increments''

arrow pointing to the right,''advance settings,5 deg. increments

looks to me like my picture is close to 15 degrees advanced, not a happy n20 setting

i have a brand new printer/copier and not a clue how to use it,once i figure it out i will post the pic

I tried useing one of those adjustable timing wheels. I tightened the three screws as tight as possible with the screws it came with. The screws all came loose and that is what was wrong with my bike at the grudge race in Maryland. The bike wouldn't make enough power to get enough revs to shift. Pretty dissapointing after comeing from Texas to Maryland. Not being a great mechanic, I checked everything except that before loading the bike in the trailer. When I got back home, I found the problem. I again tightened the screws, then took a dremel and made a slot in each for a flat screwdriver and tightened them some more. Didn't work-came loose again. I guess I could have put loctite on them but then wouldn't have been able to readjust it. I threw it in the garbage, put 5 degree advance in the PC3R, and remove a handful of timing with the Schnitz EFIR when the Progressive is activated. Works fine and makes a lot of power.

Rac4it; Now we need to question your input?!

5 deg. is correct.

buddy; simply use BLUE loctite. Re-adjustment will not be an issue.

The reason I was so sure about the 5 degrees was I had a Bear, Muzzy and Rohm advancer (Sold the other 2 and all 3 of them were 5 degrees and I had to carefully split the middle and hated the fact that they are not in smaller marks!.

The good news is he really was at about 12.5 degrees retard and we all will sure remember this from Now on

KUDO's to Brian for being #1 (is that the 2nd finger )

vince hill, are you saying that that the timing in the above picture is 12.5 degrees retarded ?

if the motor turns clockwise, and you adjust the rotor clockwise, wouldn't that be advancing the timing ?

Mad Mike messed me up there. Originally I had 12.5 degrees Advanced and "Engine Pucker" but changed it to Retard. See how great we are here?? ALL of the famous people, The Emperor has no Cloths! Yes it is ADVANCED! Move it back to center and if you want 2 degrees retarded, just have the left side of the center rotor mark resting against the right side of the Rotor plate mark and that is about 2 degrees 2.5 is where it is equal space on both sides of the Rotor mark between the center and the 1st mark to the right of it.

The Emperor story was where this famous Tailor came to make a special robe for the Emperor and every day was making measurements and cutting and sewing. The problem was, no one could see the material. He told them that Only the cloth was a special cloth and to see it, people had to be loyal and love him. Well wprd got around about this so the day came where he was out with his new cloths and everyone was Oooing and Aawing about how good he looked until this young Kid yelled out "The Emperor does not have any cloths on"! In other words a lot of grown people can be fooled by a lot of Bull Pucky but it is not as easy to fool Kids (At least that was one of my takes. Nowadays it means the truth is the truth and we should all know it when we see it!.
