I have a feeling nothing is going to be resolved here, and responding will only prolong the rant. People can read the posts and decide who is more credible.

I'm using big-time moderation on this (hijacked) thread
Buddy is a buddy of mine, and I saw/heard the entire ARH/Buddy's turbo saga from initial thoughts, thru fukken interminable "development", to clusterfuk conclusion.
It did run, but was/is 110% UN-useable; never seen a bigger mess of peripheral equipment.
Buddy has more patience than me; must come with age

I agree ,
But, the Lair stuff had to be responded to. As for the thread topic, Bob can make the HP you want, just remember, you ave to ask the question of ,"is it what YOU want"?

Speaking of turbo, wheres your bike John? Since Im such a crappy builder you and I should have a build/race off. You got a turbo right? cause I do! You guys can see how shoddy my work is in person. Let the truth be told!

Who's to say, who is a better engine builder than another???...Ever notice that a real good engine builder always hooks up with a real good rider or driver???
As long as riders and drivers bring their motors to a builder that stands behind his work, then you have a good motor!!!...All GOOD builders have the same base, then just add little tricks here and there...I bet if riders and drivers bought same kitted motors from 5 different builders and had them checked for HorsePower output on the dyno, they would probably be with in 5hp of each other...So, 5 hp makes or breaks people???...Not on the street or the COMPUTER it dont !!!
If I get a motor built Im going with Carpenter...Why, because he is only 75 miles from my house and has a real good rep!!!...Sure I can go with Coby Adams Performance and he also has a real good rep., but he is a 1000 miles from me...As does Lees Performance, Muzzys, Brock Davidson, but they are too far from me!!!
The mistake riders/drivers make is only going with a rep...You need to go with a rep and support, the support being that guys that have been to the same builder that you have and have experience in tunning, gearing, suspention and how to ride for that motor...
Comeon guys, is this going to go on forever???

LEE builds the best engines bar none.
Anywhere else is a waist of money.
Just kidding
some actually think like that about a builder .
I will bet that you could take the same bike to
5 different tuner with a zero map in the PC
and come back with a +5hp spread on the DYNO graph.

Normally, I don't post as I don't like the controversy that can come from posts, however, it seems either I or JC has become the subject of rage that needs something said. I agree 100% with the CrotchRocket post. I hope this is not going to go on forever, also. It was over, as far as I was concerned, but when dealing with a self annointed asshole, who knows how long it will go on.
It wasn't the lack of talent or ability that caused me to change builders, as I think the "young Man-ARH" has plenty of both. It was the rage of the "young man-ARH" that ruined what should have been a pleasant experience. It wasn't always directed at me, but was quite often directed at someone nearby. It was nine months of that along with finger pointing, assigning blame and a general unwillingness to accept responsibility for anything that finally drove me away. I agree the motor seems to be put together right and the turbo adds a lot of (uncontrollable) power. The bike was unfinished when I took it from ARH, but wasn't altered (except for having to send the turbo back to the factory to rebuild) before taking it to Cheeses. I had talked to 2 other turbo shops who wouldn't take on someone else's project. Johnny was the only one who would attempt it. He cleaned it up a great deal, but there were some issues with the waste gate and header that came up. I didn't want to spend any more on a project I was disgusted with anyway, so I picked up the bike. I have it another shop now, with the owner contemplating purchasing it. If he doesn't, it will be used for a parts bike with most of it for sale.
I have dealt with 3 major players in the motorcycle racing business since ARH and am on good terms with them all. Johnny Cheese was one of them and I have nothing to say about him but good things. The bike he built for me, with a 40 shot, ran 8.70 at 161 mph at the same Texas shootout that ARH ran 8.85 on his turbobusa.

I assume you're asking my age, which is 63. I don't like to be dismissed as simply an "old man" as ARH has done. A lot of young racers have been handed their heads on the race track by me by doing so. I drive good, maybe not the best, but good and I've got a fast bike.

I never dismissed you as a "poor old man", John did that when all this fiasco came about. 9 months? where did the other 6 months go to? I sure had that bike alot longer than I remember, hell, the fabricator had MY bike during the initial phase, while you were still riding and racing every week, right?? And I only had your bike at the shop 3 months. 9 months is a pregnancy.....
Yea, all this was over, but I had to chime in with some remarks regarding the efficiency of Johns "builds" since he loves to play the coin. Look what happened Im not a self-proclaimed ass, but what can you do when there are 5 of Mac and Cheese's main men here to bash and fabricate stories into obvlivion? We both know what happened up there Buddy, hell John runs his mouth about you behind his back. I never said a word about you either, and I CONSTANTLY am haunted by a 63 year old that goes from track to track talking about how I "fucked him" so bad. I hear it from everyone buddy. You forget to tell those folks I didnt charge a CENT worth of labor on the entire bike. Let them know that buddy, that I did all that work for free, for nothing, to get bashed all over the net by you people. Remember, when we were getting into all this back when I still had the bike, and you were talking shit to everyone? Remember? I do. Its all over. The work, obviously the bike, and John's Mac and Cheese ass too. I just hate that you never got to ride the bike and I wish your personal opinion hadn't have affected the out come of the situation. Best of luck to all of you, and I hope to see you all very, very soon.
take care,
Nick COX

I still have a 12r header and gate, one of the new design headers I was planning to put on Buddy's bike with a larger gate. Its somewhere, the pics are long gone though. I will have to snap some with the digi.

ARH-I wrote you the first check on May 2,2003 after which you started, and the final check on Feb. 20,2004 which was 1or 2 weeks after I picked up the bike. That counts out about 9 mos. the way I count.
I was pretty upset at the time but many of the things you say I said are not so. I didn't go out and make an effort to trash you, it's just that I had told a lot of people at the track I was having a turbo made and there was a lot of interest. When time went by and I still had no turbo bike , I had to explain to lots of people why the bike wasn't available. A lot of the people drew their own conclusions.
