24 Volts starting circuit problem.
Hi I have "installed" 24 V starter circuit on my 2001 ZX-12R and have a problem.
When I hit the starter the FI light goes on and stays on for about a second after the bike has started and running.
Someone have similar problem with 24VDC starter circuit?
I Have installed the second battery in series with the cable that goes out from the starter relay via the end of the batterybox to extra batterys minus and then a cable from extra batterys plus to the starter.
Any ideas?

I went out and checked my 2001 ZX12 and the FI light stays on for a second or so after the motor starts, then goes out. I think it did also when I had a 24v system. The bike runs fine and the FI alarm system is functional as I had a real problem a week ago which was correctly diagnosed by the system.

So you have disconnected the 24V system and the FI light stays on for a second also with stock starting system?
Mine is normal when I disconnect the second battery- no Fi light when start the engine.
Funny..
Thanks anyway.
Any other inputs from someone??

I'm learning more by the day trying to keep my modified 2001 12R running. I checked a little further about the FI light staying on for a second or 2 after starting. After I decoded a couple of problems stored in the alarm ckt., I reset them by unplugging the ECU. The FI Alarm goes out as it's supposed to now.
I recently got a couple of alarms back in it showing stick coil problems. Found the problem to be a short in the ECU cable putting a partial ground on the coil wires all the time and a hard ground on individual coils occasionally. This causes a severe jolt and large backfire if you're going fast .
